Mastitis is an intramammary infection that leads to important economic losses in dairy industry such as increasing the amount of waste milk by affecting the quality and quantity of the milk, removing cows from herd or sending them for slaughter early. Some physico-chemical and microbiologic properties of brine and fermented Physalis (Physalis peruvianaL.) fruits

The acidity values were determined as 0.47% in brine and 1.11 % in products with vinegar. Radical activity values of Physalis with brine, vinegar and raw changed between 0.754 (brine) to 4.30 (%) (raw material). In addition, total phenol contents of samples ranged from 0.473 mg GAE/100 ml to 4.30 mgGAE/100 ml. The oil contents of physalis fruits of raw, salted and fermented product in vinegar were found to be 2.25%, 1.03% and 1.17%, respectively. The validity of eight neoclassical facial canons in the Turkish adults

The neoclassical canons were used to define the proportions between various areas of the head and face. Therefore, this study was done to establish the neoclassical canons of facial proportions in Turkish adults. A total of 200 healthy adults 20 to 35 years of age were examined. Using anthropometric landmarks, 5 horizontal and 9 vertical direct measurements were made on the faces with a sliding calliper. Results have been compared with 8 neoclassical facial canons. Effects of curcumin on methyl methanesulfonate damage to mouse kidney

Methylmethane sulfonate (MMS) is an alkylating agent that may react with DNA and damage it. We investigated histological changes and apoptosis caused by MMS and the effects of curcumin on MMS treated mouse kidneys. Twenty-four mice were divided into four equal groups: controls injected with saline, a group injected with 40 mg/kg MMS, a group injected with 40 mg/kg MMS and given 100 mg/kg curcumin by gavage, and a group given 100 mg/kg curcumin by gavage.
