Rule-based mamdani-type fuzzy modeling of performance proton exchange membrane fuel cell with carbon nano tube

ATA, Sadık | DİNÇER, Kevser

In this study, performance of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell was experimentally investigated and modeled with Rule-Based Mamdani-Type Fuzzy (RBMTF) modeling technique. Coating on the anode side of the membrane of PEM fuel cell was accomplished with the spin method by using carbon nanotube (CNT). In the experimental study, current and voltage performances before and after coating have been recorded at 20oC and then are compared to each other. It was determined the increasing of the performance of PEM fuel cell when coated with CNT. Input-output parameters were described by RBMTF if-th ...Daha fazlası

Centrality dependence of inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present a measurement of inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02TeV as a function of the centrality of the collision, as estimated from the energy deposited in the Zero Degree Calorimeters. The measurement is performed with the ALICE detector down to zero transverse momentum, pT, in the backward (−4.46 < ycms < −2.96) and forward (2.03 < ycms < 3.53) rapidity intervals in the dimuon decay channel and in the mid-rapidity region (−1.37 < ycms < 0.43) in the dielectron decay channel. The backward and forward rapidity intervals correspond to the Pb-going and p-going direction ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of electrons from semileptonic heavy-flavor hadron decays in p p collisions at √ s = 2.76     TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The pT-differential production cross section of electrons from semileptonic decays of heavy-flavor hadrons has been measured at midrapidity in proton-proton collisions at s 1⁄4 2.76 TeV in the transverse momentum range 0.5 < pT < 12 GeV=c with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The analysis was performed using minimum bias events and events triggered by the electromagnetic calorimeter. Predictions from perturbative QCD calculations agree with the data within the theoretical and experimental uncertainties.

Measurement of pion, kaon and proton production in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The measurement of primary π ± , K ± , p and p production at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) in proton–proton col- lisions at √s = 7 TeV performed with a large ion collider experiment at the large hadron collider (LHC) is reported. Particle identification is performed using the specific ioni- sation energy-loss and time-of-flight information, the ring- imaging Cherenkov technique and the kink-topology identifi- cation of weak decays of charged kaons. Transverse momen- tum spectra are measured from 0.1 up to 3 GeV/c for pions, from 0.2 up to 6 GeV/c for kaons and from 0.3 up to 6 GeV/c for protons. Th ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of jet quenching with semi-inclusive hadron-jet distributions in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report the measurement of a new observable of jet quenching in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV, based on the semi-inclusive rate of charged jets recoiling from a high transverse momentum (high-pT) charged hadron trigger. Jets are measured using collinear-safe jet reconstruction with infrared cutoff for jet constituents of 0.15 GeV, for jet resolution parameters R = 0.2, 0.4 and 0.5. Underlying event background is corrected at the event-ensemble level, without imposing bias on the jet population. Recoil jet spectra are reported in the range 20 < pch < 100 GeV. Unsupervised Satellite Change Detection Using Particle Swarm Optimisation in Spherical Coordinates

UŞAKLI, Ali Bülent | YAVARIABDI, Amir | KUSETOĞULLARI, Hüseyin

This paper proposes a new unsupervised satellite change de- tection method, which is invariant to shadow and shading e ects. To achieve this, rstly, the RGB satellite images are transformed into spher- ical colour space to remove illumination artifacts. Then, a new unsuper- vised change detection is used. The resultant optimal binary change mask is obtained by minimisation a mean square error based cost function us- ing Binary Particle Swarm Optimisation (BPSO). The proposed method is compared with three other satellite change detection methods and the results demonstrate that our method provi ...Daha fazlası

Multiplicity dependence of charged pion, kaon, and (anti)proton production at large transverse momentum in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of charged pions, kaons and (anti)protons has been measured at mid-rapidity (−0.5 < y < 0) in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. Exploiting particle identification capabilities at high transverse momentum (pT), the previously published pT spectra have been extended to include measurements up to 20 GeV/c for seven event multiplicity classes. The pT spectra for pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV, needed to interpolate a pp reference spectrum, have also been extended up to 20 GeV/c to measure the nuclear modification factor (RpPb) in non-single diffrac ...Daha fazlası

Neuro-fuzzy Classification of Transcranial Doppler Signals with Chaotic Meaures and Spectral Parameters

ÖZTÜRK, Ali | ARSLAN, Ahmet

Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a non-invasive diagnosis method which is used in diagnosis of various brain diseases by measuring the blood flow velocities in brain arteries. In this study, chaos analysis of the TCD signals recorded from the middle arteries of the temporal region of brain of the 82 patients and 23 healthy people was investigated. Among 82 patients, 20 of them had cerebral aneurism, 10 had brain hemorrhage, 22 had cerebral oedema and the remaining 30 had brain tumor. Maximum Lyapunov exponent which is the strongest quantitative indicator of chaos was found to be positive for all ...Daha fazlası

Short term prediction of aluminium strip thickness via Support Vector Machines

ÖZTÜRK, Ali | ŞEHERLİ, Rıfat

The fundamental principle of cold rolling process is the tension produced by the coiling and uncoiling motors of the rolling machine. If the tension is not properly regulated, the strip thickness will not be homogenous over the surface and even ruptures may occur. Therefore, short-term prediction of the aluminium strip thickness is important to control the tension. In this study, nonlinear time series analysis methods were applied to the recorded thickness data in order to obtain the embedding vectors with appropriate embedding dimension and time delay. For various prediction horizons, the emb ...Daha fazlası

Towards and Adaptive Brain- Computer Interface- An Error Potential Approach

FIGUEIREDO, Nuno | SILVA, Filipe | GEORGIEVA, Petia | MILANOVA, Mariofanna | MENDİ, Engin

In this paper a new adaptive Brain Computer Interface (BCI) architecture is proposed that allows to autonomously adapt the BCI parameters in malfunctioning situations. Such situations are detected by discriminating EEG Error Potentials and when necessary the BCI mode is switched back to the training stage in order to improve its performance. First, the modules of the adaptive BCI are presented, then the scenarios for identification of the user reaction to intentionally introduced errors are discussed and finally promising preliminary results are commented. The proposed concept has the potentia ...Daha fazlası
