This descriptive study aims to investigate prep students’ perception of 21st Century Skills that have gained a great significance recently as a result of major developments in technology which has an impact on every field of life. These skills also required some innovations in the field of education, and Foreign Language education, which is based on communication, also includes some innovations as a natural consequence of this situation. While students of bachelor’s degree were expected to have only sufficient academic knowledge in the past, nowadays it’s a must for a person to have some quali ...Daha fazlası

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of high-dose corticosteroid pulse therapy and evaluate possible factors associated with 28-day mortality in hospitalised patients with severe COVID-19 pneumonia. Methods: We conducted a single-centre retrospective cohort study on hospitalised patients with clinical, epidemiological, and/or radiologically confirmed and suspected COVID-19 at Bitlis Tatvan State Hospital in Turkey between December 1, 2020 and June 1, 2021. All data of the study participants were recorded, and all patients received intravenous high-dose corticosteroid pulse therapy. The Ordin ...Daha fazlası
Candida species are yeast fungi that are common in nature and can cause both superficial and deep infections. According to recent data, Candida species are considered to be the main causative agents of healthcare-associated infections. In this study, it was aimed to determine Candida species, Sap genes and biofilm formation isolated from blood cultures, which are health care-associated infectious agents, and to evaluate them together with antifungal susceptibility tests. Candida spp. were identified by the Vitek 2 Compact method and then the results were verified by multiplex PCR and DNA seque ...Daha fazlası
Natural disasters create disasters stop human activities, destroy homes, businesses and the environment. Disasters can happen without warning and deprive hundreds or even thousands of people of drinking water, heating, lighting, communications and electricity services. Turkey has experienced the last three important disasters. 6702 buildings in the Erzincan earthquake, 48,666 in the Van earthquake, 3,200 in the Elazığ and Malatya earthquake, 90,813 buildings in the İzmir earthquake were destroyyed/heavily damaged, and a long-term power outage was experienced in the city center, towns and villa ...Daha fazlası
This article presents the first measurement of the interaction between charm hadrons and nucleons. The two-particle momentum correlations of pD− and pD¯ þ pairs are measured by the ALICE Collaboration in high-multiplicity pp collisions at ffiffi s p ¼ 13 TeV. The data are compatible with the Coulomb-only interaction hypothesis within ð1.1–1.5Þσ. The level of agreement slightly improves if an attractive nucleon ðNÞD strong interaction is considered, in contrast to most model predictions which suggest an overall ¯ repulsive interaction. This measurement allows for the first time an estimation of ...Daha fazlası
In our Galaxy, light antinuclei composed of antiprotons and antineutrons can be produced through high-energy cosmic-ray collisions with the interstellar medium or could also originate from the annihilation of dark-matter particles that have not yet been discovered. On Earth, the only way to produce and study antinuclei with high precision is to create them at high-energy particle accelerators. Although the properties of elementary antiparticles have been studied in detail, the knowledge of the interaction of light antinuclei with matter is limited. We determine the disappearance probability of ...Daha fazlası
This study was conducted to determine the level of beliefs toward mental illnesses in university students and to examine its relationship with empathic tendency and social distance level. This descriptive and relational study was conducted at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Nursing of a state university in Turkey. The sample of the study consisted of 678 students studying in the 4th grade of these faculties. Personal Information Form, the Beliefs Toward Mental Illness Scale (BMI), the Empathic Tendency Scale (ETS), and the Social Distance Scale (SDI) were used to collect data. It ...Daha fazlası

The planning and management of water resources are affected by streamflow. The analysis of the sustainability of water resources has used well-grounded methods such as artificial neural networks, used for streamflow forecasting by researchers in recent years. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of various methods for long-term forecasting from the data of the mean monthly streamflows between 1981 and 2017 from the Kucukmuhsine station on the Meram Stream in the Turkish province of Konya. For that reason, the multilayer perceptron (MLP), long short-term memory (LSTM), and ...Daha fazlası
Recent pT-integrated cross section measurements of the ground-state charm mesons and baryons, D0, D+, D+s, Λ+c, and Ξ0c, are used to evaluate the charm fragmentation fractions and production cross section per unit of rapidity at midrapidity (|y|
The production of non-prompt D0 mesons from beauty-hadron decays was measured at midrapidity (|y| < 0.5) in Pb-Pb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-ofmass energy of √ sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Their nuclear modification factor (RAA), measured for the first time down to pT = 1 GeV/c in the 0–10% and 30–50% centrality classes, indicates a significant suppression, up to a factor of about three, for pT > 5 GeV/c in the 0–10% central Pb-Pb collisions. The data are described by models that include both collisional and radiative processes in the calculation of beautyqu ...Daha fazlası
Background: Problems with sexuality are experienced in the first 6 months at the most, and often in the first 12 months after birth. Although there are studies reporting negative effects of breastfeeding on sexuality, the evidence is limited. Objective: This study was conducted with the aim of exploring the breastfeeding sexual lives of first-time mothers. Materials and Methods: The research was carried out in Turkey between October 2020 and December 2021. The study was conducted with 41 women who met the inclusion criteria. Participants were selected by the “snowball” sampling procedure among ...Daha fazlası
Contemporaneous monitoring of disease progression, in addition to early diagnosis, is important for the treatment of patients with chronic conditions. Chronic disease‐related factors are not easily tractable, and the existing data sets do not clearly reflect them, making diagnosis difficult. The primary issue is that databases maintained by health care, insurance, or governmental organizations typically do not contain clinical information and instead focus on patient appointments and demographic profiles. Due to the lack of thorough information on potential risk factors for a single patient, i ...Daha fazlası
