Elliptic flow of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The elliptic flow, v2, of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity (2.5 < y < 4) is measured in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The scalar product, two- and four-particle Q cumulants and Lee–Yang zeros methods are used. The dependence of the v2 of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays on the collision centrality, in the range 0–40%, and on transverse momentum, pT, is studied in the interval 3 < pT < 10 GeV/c. A positive v2 is observed with the scalar product and two-particle Q cumulants in semi-central collisions (10–20% and 20–40% cen ...Daha fazlası

Event-by-event mean pT fluctuations in pp and Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Event-by-event fluctuations of the mean trans- verse momentum of charged particles produced in pp colli- sions at √s = 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV, and Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV are studied as a function of the charged- particle multiplicity using the ALICE detector at the LHC. Dynamical fluctuations indicative of correlated particle emis- sion are observed in all systems. The results in pp collisions show little dependence on collision energy. The Monte Carlo event generators PYTHIA and PHOJET are in qualitative agreement with the data. Peripheral Pb–Pb data exhibit a sim- ilar multiplicity ...Daha fazlası

Relative particle yield fluctuations in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

First results on K/π, p/π and K/p fluctuations are obtained with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC as a function of centrality in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV . The observable νdyn , which is defined in terms of the moments of particle multiplicity distributions, is used to quantify the magnitude of dynamical fluctuations of rela- tive particle yields and also provides insight into the corre- lation between particle pairs. This study is based on a novel experimental technique, called the Identity Method, which allows one to measure the moments of multiplicity distri- butions in case of ...Daha fazlası

A Novel Immobilization Matrix For The Biosensing Of Phenol: Self Assembled Monolayers Of Calixarenes

TAŞÇI, Filiz | SAYIN, Serkan | AĞ SELECİ, Didem | DEMİR, Bilal | AZAK, Hacer | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir | ODACI DEMİRKOL, Dilek | TİMUR, Suna

Aim: The development of calixarene based phenol biosensor. Methods: This study describes the application of a calixarene derivative, 5,17-diamino-25,27-bis(3-thiol-1-oxypropane)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (HS-Calix-NH2) which has both amino and thiol functionalities, in the practical surface modifications for biomolecule binding. The structure of HS-Calix-NH2 allows easy inter-action with Au surface and one-step biomolecule immo-bilization. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of p-amino-functionalized mercaptoalkylcalixarene (HS-Calix-NH2) were formed onto the Au electrode. Then, Laccase (Lac) ...Daha fazlası

Centrality dependence of pion freeze-out radii in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report on the measurement of freeze-out radii for pairs of identical-charge pions measured in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV as a function of collision centrality and the average transverse momentum of the pair kT. Three-dimensional sizes of the system (femtoscopic radii), as well as direction-averaged one- dimensional radii are extracted. The radii decrease with kT, following a power-law behavior. This is qualitatively consistent with expectations from a collectively expanding system, produced in hydrodynamic calculations. The radii also scale linearly with ⟨dNch/dη⟩1/3. This behavior ...Daha fazlası

Electrochemical Glucose Biosensors: Whole Cell Microbial and Enzymatic Determination Based on 10-(4H-Dithieno[3,2-b:2′,3′-d]Pyrrol-4-yl)Decan-1-Amine Interfaced Glassy Carbon Electrodes

ÇEVİK, Emre | CERİT, Alaaddin | TOMBULOĞLU, Hüseyin | SABİT, Hussein | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir

The fabrication of amperometric biosensors based on whole cell Gluconobacter oxydans DSMZ 2343 (G. oxydans) and glucose oxidase (GOx) was performed for the detection of glucose. Glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) were coated with a 10-(4H-dithiyeno [3,2-b:2’,3’-d]pyroll-4-il)decan-1-amine (DTP-alkyl-NH2) polymer using an electropolymerization method and the formed interface was used to connect the bacteria and the enzyme to the electrode. The transfer of electrons from enzyme to electrode was successfully demonstrated by the biocatalytic activity and unique morphology of the conducting polymer. Ch ...Daha fazlası

Medium modification of the shape of small-radius jets in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present the measurement of a new set of jet shape observables for track- based jets in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. The set of jet shapes includes the first radial moment or angularity, g, the momentum dispersion, pTD, and the differ- ence between the leading and sub-leading constituent track transverse momentum, LeSub. These observables provide complementary information on the jet fragmentation and can constrain different aspects of the theoretical description of jet-medium interactions. The jet shapes were measured for a small resolution parameter R = 0.2 and were fully co ...Daha fazlası

Transverse momentum spectra and nuclear modification factors of charged particles in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report the measured transverse momentum (pT) spectra of primary charged particles from pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy √sNN = 5.02 TeV in the kinematic range of 0.15 < pT < 50 GeV/c and |η| < 0.8. A significant improvement of systematic uncertainties motivated the reanalysis of data in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV, as well as in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV, which is also presented. Spectra from Pb-Pb collisions are presented in nine centrality intervals and are compared to a reference spectrum from pp collisions scaled by the number of binary nu ...Daha fazlası

Transverse momentum dependence of D-meson production in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Abstract: The production of prompt charmed mesons D0, D+ and D∗+, and their an- tiparticles, was measured with the ALICE detector in Pb-Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair, √sNN, of 2.76TeV. The production yields for rapidity |y| < 0.5 are presented as a function of transverse momentum, pT, in the interval 1–36GeV/c for the centrality class 0–10% and in the interval 1–16 GeV/c for the centrality class 30–50%. The nuclear modification factor RAA was computed using a proton-proton reference at √√ s = 2.76 TeV, based on measurements at s = 7 TeV and on theoretical calculat ...Daha fazlası

Centrality dependence of ψ(2S) suppression in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The inclusive production of the ψ(2S) charmonium state was studied as a function of centrality in p-Pb collisions at the nucleon-nucleon center of mass energy √sNN = 5.02 TeV at the CERN LHC. The measurement was performed with the ALICE detec- tor in the center of mass rapidity ranges −4.46 < ycms < −2.96 and 2.03 < ycms < 3.53, down to zero transverse momentum, by reconstructing the ψ(2S) decay to a muon pair. The ψ(2S) production cross section σψ(2S) is presented as a function of the collision cen- trality, which is estimated through the energy deposited in forward rapidity calorime- ters. Measurement of D-meson production versus multiplicity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Abstract: The measurement of prompt D-meson production as a function of multiplic- ity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC is re- ported. D0, D+ and D∗+ mesons are reconstructed via their hadronic decay channels in the centre-of-mass rapidity range −0.96 < ycms < 0.04 and transverse momentum interval 1 < pT < 24 GeV/c. The multiplicity dependence of D-meson production is examined by either comparing yields in p–Pb collisions in different event classes, selected based on the multiplicity of produced particles or zero-degree energy, with those in pp collisions ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of beauty production via non-prompt D0 mesons in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of non-prompt D0 mesons from beauty-hadron decays was measured at midrapidity (|y| < 0.5) in Pb-Pb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-ofmass energy of √ sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Their nuclear modification factor (RAA), measured for the first time down to pT = 1 GeV/c in the 0–10% and 30–50% centrality classes, indicates a significant suppression, up to a factor of about three, for pT > 5 GeV/c in the 0–10% central Pb-Pb collisions. The data are described by models that include both collisional and radiative processes in the calculation of beautyqu ...Daha fazlası
