Time and volume-ratio effect on reusable polybenzoxazole nanofiber oil sorption capacity investigated via machine learning

OFLAZ, Kamil | OFLAZ, Zarina | ÖZAYTEKİN, İlkay | BASTUGAN, Rabia

Diesel oil sorption capacities (DOSCs) of polybenzoxazole/polyvinylidenefluoride nanofiber mats with four different groups (-O-, -S-S-, phenylene anddiphenylene) in the main chain structures were investigated. Different experi-mental duration and diesel-oil/tap-water volume ratio pairs were used for dieseloil sorption. No degradation was observed in the nanofiber mat structures afterdiesel oil sorption. The characterizations of polybenzoxazole (PBO) nanofiberswith high diesel oil selectivity were performed by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spec ...Daha fazlası

AKIN SAYGIN, Duygu | TÜRKOĞLU, Fatma Nur | AYDIN KABAKÇI, Anıl Didem | ALPA, Şerife

ABSTRACT: Internal acoustic opening is a space that opens to facies posterior of the petrous piece of temporal bone that goes inside facial nerve, vestibulocochlear nerve, intermedial nevre and labyrinthine artery. The purpose of this study is the assessment of internal acoustic opening from a morphometric perspective, determination of the shape of the hole and determination of the distance to some important anatomic formations. This study is conducted on 166 temporal bones with unknown sex formation which are part of the skull collection in NEU and KTO Karatay University, Anatomy Department. ...Daha fazlası

Disaster management and preventive conservation in cultural heritage: Konya Archaeology Museum case

DİŞLİ, Gülşen | BACAK, Fatma Nur

This study focuses on the first stage of the disaster management cycle in cultural heritage, including risk preparedness and preventive conservation. The main objective is to develop a systematic approach to evaluate and investigate old museum buildings in the pre-disaster stage. Konya Archaeology Museum was chosen as a case study to test the applicability of this systematic approach, mainly the RE-ORG model and Visual Preassessment Method: UNI EN 16096 (2012. Standard for Condition Survey and Report of Built Cultural Heritage. https://www.enstandard.eu/csn-en-16096-conservation-of-cultural-pr ...Daha fazlası

Torsional Natural Frequency Analysis Of Torsional Vibration Damper Using Numerical And Modal Test Approaches

SEZGEN, Haşmet Çağrı

This work presents to obtain the torsional natural frequencies and mode shapes of the torsional vibration damper. The torsional vibration damper is mounted on the end of the crankshaft in the opposite direction of the flywheel to dampen the torsional vibrations, especially high-torque diesel engines. The torsional vibration damper used in the study consists of thirteen elements include rubber, silicone and other materials. Therefore, in this study, the Holzer, matrix, finite element methods and modal test are realized to determine the torsional natural frequencies and mode shapes of the propos ...Daha fazlası

Torsional Natural Frequency Analysis Of A Cranktrain System Using Holzer And Finite Element Method

SEZGEN, Haşmet Çağrı

This study aims to obtain the torsional natural frequencies and mode shapes of the twelve degrees of freedom cranktrain system consisting of a flywheel, crankshaft, and torsional vibration damper elements using Holzer and finite element methods. An equivalent lumped mass model of the proposed cranktrain system is created by considering twelve masses connected with spring and damping elements. In equivalent modeling approach, eight elements of the lumped mass model are connected in series, the rest four masses are connected by three parallel branchings. Also, these four masses express the torsi ...Daha fazlası

Alternative System Design for High Temperature Solid Particle Erosion Wear Problem

DEMİRCİ, Musa | BAĞCI, Mehmet

In order to simulate the wear behavior of materials subjected to solid particle erosion due to high temperature as well as velocity effect in operating conditions such as power plants and jet engines, ASTM G76 standard is not sufficient and test rig compliant with ASTM G211-14 standard must be put forward. In this context, a test rig, alternative to existing systems where solid particle erosion wear experiments can be performed in compliance with high temperature (~ 700 °C) and particle impact velocity (~ 150 m/s) conditions, has been designed and produced. In order to ensure the widespread us ...Daha fazlası

Do community-dwelling pregnant women know about pelvic floor disorder?

TOPRAK ÇELENAY, Şeyda | ÇOBAN, Özge | KORKUT, Zehra | ALKAN, Afra

ABSTRACT Our study aimed to assess the knowledge and awareness regarding pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) among pregnant women. We additionally evaluated whether the knowledge of PFDs was different in relation to gestational age, parity, the attendance to an antenatal education (ANE), and history of urinary incontinence (UI) and/or pelvic organ prolapse (POP). A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in pregnant women from all trimesters of pregnancy. The Prolapse and Incontinence Knowledge Questionnaire (PIKQ) and three questions were used for knowledge and awareness. Two hundred and fo ...Daha fazlası

Late Quaternary paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental changes in the Konya Closed Basin (Konya, Turkey) recorded by geochemical proxies from lacustrine sediments

ORHAN, Hükmü | DELİKAN, Arif | DEMİR, Ahmet | KAPAN, Sevinç | OLGUN, Kemal | ÖZMEN, Ayhan | SAYIN, Ülkü | EKİCİ, Gamze | AYDIN, Hülya | ENGİN, Birol | TAPRAMAZ, Recep

The Konya Closed Basin is an important basin in central Turkey, in terms of its geographic position, Quaternary infills, and well-preserved archeological sites. It comprises Quaternary lake marls and other, mainly fine grained, sediments with locally in excess of 400 m. Geochemical data for samples taken from the 7-m-deep Adakale trench from the late Quaternary lacustrine sediments in the Konya Closed Basin are presented and have been used as proxies to elucidate the past climatic changes, weathering regime, redox conditions, and productivity. Climate changes observed in the studied samples fo ...Daha fazlası

Optimal Tuning of the SMC Parameters for a Two Two-Link Manipulator Co-Simulation Control

İLGEN, Sinan | DURDU, Akif | GÜLBAHÇE, Erdi | ÇAKAN, Abdullah

—This paper presents the trajectory tracking control of a two-link planar robot manipulator using MSC Adams and MATLAB co-simulation which enables the innovative virtual prototyping of the systems without any mathematical expressions. Firstly, the tracking control performance of the planar manipulator is investigated using the Sliding Mode Control (SMC) controller and the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller in terms of the performance analysis. As a result, the SMC demonstrates effective control performances compared to the PID controller according to the required trajectory, set ...Daha fazlası

Maximal exercise outcomes with a face mask: the effects of gender and age differences on cardiorespiratory responses

ALKAN, Büşra

Background Surgical masks have become an important accessory of physical activity in daily life due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Aims To determine the efects of the surgical mask on respiratory gas exchange parameters, dyspnoea, and hemodynamic responses during maximal exercise in diferent age groups and gender. Methods Twenty-six healthy participants between 18 and 65 years (mean 37.35±15.99) performed a maximal exercise test twice randomly, with and without a mask. To determine the respiratory gas exchange parameters (peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak), minute ventilation (VE), energy expenditur ...Daha fazlası
