In this letter, we propose a novel method for unsupervised change detection in multitemporal multispectral Landsat images using multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA). The proposed method minimizes two different objective functions using MOEA to provide tradeoff between each other. The objective functions are used for evaluating changed and unchanged regions of the difference image separately. The difference image is obtained by using the structural similarity index measure method, which provides combination of the comparisons of luminance, contrast, and structure between two images. The aim of this work was to formulate an empirical model using the data of the electrochemical treatment of cattle slaughterhouse wastewater. The empirical model was developed using response surface methodology with optimal design considering an irregular process space. As operational factors, current density, influent pH, flow rate, supporting electrolyte (NaCl or Na2SO4) concentrations, and H2O2 concentrations were examined. Under these circumstances, the aim was to represent the optimal region shown generally as a surface by obtaining the lowest possible value of chemical oxygen demand (COD ...Daha fazlası

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine serum asprosine levels in stage 3 and 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and healthy individuals and to investigate the relationship between this parameter and cardiovascular risk factors. Materials-Methods: In our investigation, serum and plasma samples from blood taken for standard laboratory testing were employed. In all, 91 people were involved in our investigation. Thirtyseven of these were patients with stage 3 CKD, twenty with stage 4 CKD, and 37 were healthy controls. Serum from both healthy and CKD participants was used to perform ...Daha fazlası
Background of the Study: Nanomedicine is being investigated nanotechnology-based solutions to medical problems to increase the bioavailability of drugs and reduce side effects. The ultimate goal is to enable more effective and patient-friendly treatment regimens by reducing drug concentration and dosing frequency, offering easier administration and improving safety. Silica-based nanoparticles are widely used in nanomedicine and are emerging as a promising next-generation material for biological applications. Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have been used as drug nanocarriers in breast c ...Daha fazlası

Background of the Study: Breast cancer, the second most common cause of cancer death, is a global public health problem due to its poor response to treatment and complex aetiology. The MCF-7 cell line is widely used in laboratories around the world for in vitro studies to address this problem. Diazepam is one of the most successful anaesthetics since the beginning of the psychopharmacological revolution. It belongs to a class of benzodiazepines that is often preferred in anaesthesia. Flumazenil is an imidazobenzodiazepine and was the first benzodiazepine antagonist to enter clinical use. The e ...Daha fazlası

Background of the Study: Breast cancer, a major cause of cancer-related deaths, is an important health problem due to its inadequate response to treatment and complex etiology. Oxytocin (OT) is a peptide mammalian hormone consisting of nine amino acids. Today, cellular studies of oxytocin have gained importance. Oxytocin has been observed to inhibit cell proliferation in cancer. The biggest advantage of oxytocin therapies is that they provide the organism with cell production on its own and have no side effects. Studies have shown that OT is a factor that stimulates cell proliferation in lung, ...Daha fazlası

Infertility is a major health problem and is increasing worldwide. The shift in the age at which both partners have their first child to older ages and lifestyle changes have contributed to the increase in the incidence of infertility. 50% of infertility in couples is due to male infertility. In vitro studies show that bacteria can negatively affect sperm function. Bacteria; has been shown to play an important role in many mechanisms that affect sperm function, including agglutination of motile sperm, induction of apoptosis, production of immobilization factors, and disruption of acrosome resp ...Daha fazlası
Introduction: Hypothyroidism is an endocrine disorder that occurs mainly due to the insufficiency of thyroid hormones in the body or the inability of these hormones to affect target tissues. As a result of the insufficiency of thyroid hormones, the systems are affected and accordingly, the health status of individuals is adversely affected. Coenzyme Q10 is a lipophilic antioxidant that plays a role in membrane stability, energy conversion and ATP production. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Coenzyme Q10 on GDNF, PLZF, SOX3 and THY1 gene expression levels in rats with hypoth ...Daha fazlası
Aim: In this study, it was aimed to determine the total phenolic content, flavonoid content, and antioxidant activity of Castanea sativa Mill. (chestnut) leaf extract and their anti-proliferative effect on MCF 7 cell line. Materials and Methods: It determined antioxidant capacities by using DPPH assay, total phenolic content by using Folin-Ciocaltaeu method and Total flavonoid content by aluminum chloride colorimetric method in the ethanolic extracts of Chesnut leaf. In addition, the anti-proliferative effect of chestnut leaf extract was determined by XTT method in MCF7 breast cell line. The l ...Daha fazlası
This study empirically examines how fluctuations in oil prices affect the stock returns of clean energy and oil and gas companies between 2001:01 and 2022:06. Our results show that a negative oil supply shock affects the stock returns of clean energy companies positively. In contrast, an oil-specific demand shock negatively affects them. The findings also reveal that an increase in oil prices owing to an oil-specific demand shock tends not to improve the stock returns of oil and gas companies. Consequently, the results indicate that oil and clean energy are not alternatives.
This paper empirically investigates the spillover between investor attention and green bond returns by utilizing the connectedness approach. We will examine the impact of uncertainty in the stock, bond, and energy markets, as well as the success of clean energy, oil, and gas investments, on the relationship between green bonds and investor attention. We find that there are positive but small spillovers between investor attention and green bond returns. Besides, the connectedness between investor attention and green bond market performance is stronger in the short run than in the long run. Furt ...Daha fazlası
