An integrated fuzzy AHP/DEA approach for performance evaluation of territorial units in Turkey

ÇALIK, Ahmet | YAPICI PEHLİVAN, Nimet | KAHRAMAN, Cengiz

Due to the differences between regions and sub-regions in the countries, some problems come out especially in economic and social life. The issue of differences of regions has been widely implemented to evaluate the economic performance of Turkey in many disciplines. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the efficiency of 26 sub-regions of NUTS-2 classification using integration Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The integrated FAHP/DEA method comprises two stages. In the first stage, linguistic terms are used to determine the decision makers’ op ...Daha fazlası

The Effects of the Pandemic on Childhood Obesity

KURT SEZER, Hilal | KÜÇÜKOĞLU, Sibel

Obesity is among the leading global health problems in children under five years of age. Obesity, which is caused by genetic factors, inactive lifestyle, negative eating behaviors, endocrine disorders and malnutrition, has become a health problem with the growing risk given the conditions in the pandemic process. As a result of protective restrictions, such as mandatory shut down schools and lockdowns during the pandemic, children's time spent at home has increased, leading to a decrease in physical activity and changes in diet and sleep patterns. All these factors increase the risk of obesity ...Daha fazlası

Validity of and Relationship Between The Variables of Ethical Climate and Culture Patient Safety and Organizational Support

ASLAN, Şebnem | AKARÇAY, Demet

In this study, it was assumed that behavioral variables within the organization-al environment contribute to improve patient safety. For this purpose, in the initial phase, validity and reliability analysis was conducted for the scale in order to adapt to Turkish. In the second phase, the correlation between ethical climate and culture, patient safety and perceived organizational support (manager and peer support) were investi-gated. The study population involves employees (N= 300) working in four public hospi-tals in the province of Konya in Turkey. ing measures as ethical climate and cul-tur ...Daha fazlası

Event-shape and multiplicity dependence of freeze-out radii in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Two-particle correlations in high-energy collision experiments enable the extraction of particle source radii by using the Bose-Einstein enhancement of pion production at low relative momentum q ∝ 1/R. It was previously observed that in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV the average pair transverse momentum kT range of such analyses is limited due to large background correlations which were attributed to mini-jet phenomena. To investigate this further, an event-shape dependent analysis of Bose-Einstein correlations for pion pairs is performed in this work. By categorizing the events by their transver ...Daha fazlası

Particle identification in ALICE: a Bayesian approach

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present a Bayesian approach to particle identification (PID) within the ALICE experiment. The aim is to more effectively combine the particle identification capabilities of its various detectors. After a brief explanation of the adopted methodology and formalism, the performance of the Bayesian PID ap- proach for charged pions, kaons and protons in the central barrel of ALICE is studied. PID is performed via measurements of specific energy loss (dE/dx) and time of flight. PID efficiencies and misidentifica- tion probabilities are extracted and compared with Monte Carlo simulations using hig ...Daha fazlası

Recommendations for calculation of strengthened brick walls with perforated plates

ÖZBEK, Eray | AYKAÇ, Bengi | CAN, Hüsnü | KALKAN, İlker | AYKAÇ, SabahattiN

There are many studies relating to the strengthening of infill brick walls, which contribute partially to the resistance against the seismic forces, by using different methods and materials to make them behave similarly to a ductile RC walled system. Unlike other research, studies using perforated steel plates have improved behavior on ductility as well as strength. Experimental results show that there is no significant loss of strength even at relative floor drift ratios up to 7.5%. The aim of the present study is to generate calculation and modelling approaches for designers who choose this ...Daha fazlası

Azimuthally-differential pion femtoscopy relative to the third harmonic event plane in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Azimuthally-differential femtoscopic measurements, being sensitive to spatio-temporal characteristics of the source as well as to the collective velocity fields at freeze out, provide very important information on the nature and dynamics of the system evolution. While the HBT radii oscillations relative to the second harmonic event plane measured recently reflect mostly the spatial geometry of the source, model studies have shown that the HBT radii oscillations relative to the third harmonic event plane are predominantly defined by the velocity fields. In this Letter, we present the first resu ...Daha fazlası

φ-Meson production at forward rapidity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV and in pp collisions at √s = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first study of φ-meson production in p–Pb collisions at forward and backward rapidity, at a nucleon– nucleon centre-of-mass energy √sNN = 5.02 TeV, has been performed with the ALICE apparatus at the LHC. The φ-mesons have been identified in the dimuon decay channel in the transverse momentum (pT) range 1 < pT < 7 GeV/c, both in the p-going (2.03 < y < 3.53) and the Pb-going (−4.46 < y < −2.96) directions — where y stands for the rapidity in the nucleon–nucleon centre-of-mass — the integrated luminosity amounting to 5.01 ± 0.19 nb−1 and 5.81 ± 0.20 nb−1, respectively, for the two data sam- ...Daha fazlası

Azimuthally differential pion femtoscopy in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present the first azimuthally differential measurements of the pion source size relative to the second harmonic event plane in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair of sNN 1⁄4 2.76 TeV. The measurements have been performed in the centrality range 0%–50% and for pion pair transverse momenta 0.2 < kT < 0.7 GeV=c. We find that the Rside and Rout radii, which characterize the pion source size in the directions perpendicular and parallel to the pion transverse momentum, oscillate out of phase, similar to what was observed at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of the inclusive isolated photon production cross section in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production cross section of inclusive iso- lated photons has been measured by the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC in pp collisions at a centre-of-momentum energy of √s = 7 TeV. The measurement is performed with the electromagnetic calorimeter EMCal and the central track- ing detectors, covering a range of |η| < 0.27 in pseudora- pidity and a transverse momentum range of 10 < pTγ < 60 GeV/c. The result extends the pT coverage of previously published results of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the same collision energy to smaller pT. The measurement is compared to next-to-leading order pert ...Daha fazlası

The Mediator Role of Ethical Values and Behavior which is Affected by Organizational Citizenship Behavior on Employee Empowerment

ASLAN, Şebnem | AKARÇAY, Demet | TOYGAR, Şükrü Anıl | ALA, Şükran

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of employee empowerment on organizational citizenship behavior and the role of ethical values and behavior in terms of this impact. This research was applied to a sample of group of 195 persons, working in two leader companies in the textile industry, located in the province of Isparta in Turkey. In the inquiry, it has been concluded that the employee empowerment affects the organizational citizenship behavior by the full mediation of ethical value and behavior.
