Factors Affecting Adherence to Antiretroviral Treatment among HIV/AIDS Patients in Turkey

KARAKOÇ, Hanife Nur | KAYA, Selçuk | AYDIN TERZİOĞLU, Merve | KÖKSAL, İftihar

Introduction: Adherence to antiretroviral treatment (ART) is critical for the success of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection treatment. There is no approved consensus that defines adherence. In this study, it was aimed to examine the adherence rate of our patients with high-efficacy ART and to determine the factors affecting treatment adherence. Materials and Methods: Seventy-two patients admitted to the study between January 1, 2018 and July 31, 2018 with the diagnosis of HIV/AIDS who received ART for at least three months and agreed to participate in the study were included in the s ...Daha fazlası

Effect of New Sulfonyl Hydrazone Compounds Against Candida Biofilms

AYDIN TERZİOĞLU, Merve | ÖZTÜRK, Ali | DURAN, Tuğçe | ÖZDEMİR ÖZMEN, Ümmühan | ŞUMLU, Esra

Objectives: Candidiasis is the most frequently encountered fungal infection, with ranges from mild superficial infections to disseminated candidiasis. Most manifestations of Candidiasis are associated with biofilm formation. Candida biofilms contributes to therapeutic failure due to resistance to antimicrobial agents and causes an increase in mortality rates. For these reasons, finding new drugs and antimicrobial agents are urgently needed. Sulfonyl hydrazones derived from sulfonamide, are well-known for its pharmacological effects, such as antifungal, antibacterial potential activity. This st ...Daha fazlası

Analysis Of The School Readiness Of The Childs At The Age Of 5-6, In Terms Of The Factors For The Child, Parents And Home Environment

KELEŞ ERTÜRK, Canan | ALAKOÇ PİRPİR, Devlet

The aim of this research is examine if the 5th and 6th age group children’s school preparation skills are getting any different or not according to child, parent and home environment variables. The research is done with general screening model and it includes single screening model and relational screening model. The study group of the research is composed with 178 children who are going to nursery class, and chosen with the random method from the population and voluntarily participate, 103 children who are not going to nursery class so in short with 281 children and including their mothers to ...Daha fazlası

Work Life In Turkey In The Context Of Social Risk And Uncertainty

EKİZ ATAŞER, İlknur

This research focuses on social, political and economic uncertainties and risks in work life. Based on a field research in industrial companies in Konya/Turkey, I focus on how patterns of work develop on the basis of capital, labor and employment. The central issue in this attempt is to ascertain how industrial workers are influenced by social, political and economic uncertainties and risks. In other words, this study explores how these uncertainties and risks, real or imagined, are reflected in the work life of individuals and shape their agencies in work life. Based on quantitative and quali ...Daha fazlası

Inclusive heavy-flavour production at central and forward rapidity in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first measurements of the production of muons and electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the LHC, are reported. The measurement of the nuclear modification factor RAA is performed as a function of transverse momentum pT in several centrality classes at forward rapidity (2.5 < y < 4) and midrapidity (|y| < 0.8) for muons and electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays, respectively. A suppression by a factor up to about 2.5 compared to the binary-scaled pp reference is observed in central collisions at both central and f ...Daha fazlası

Production of pions, kaons, (anti-)protons and φ mesons in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first measurement of the production of pions, kaons, (anti-)protons and ϕ mesons at midrapidity in Xe-Xe collisions at sNN‾‾‾‾√=5.44 TeV is presented. Transverse momentum (pT) spectra and pT-integrated yields are extracted in several centrality intervals bridging from p-Pb to mid-central Pb-Pb collisions in terms of final-state multiplicity. The study of Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb collisions allows systems at similar charged-particle multiplicities but with different initial geometrical eccentricities to be investigated. A detailed comparison of the spectral shapes in the two systems reveals an oppos ...Daha fazlası

Charged-particle multiplicity fluctuations in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Abstract Measurements of event-by-event fluctuations of charged-particle multiplicities in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV using the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are presented in the pseudo- rapidity range |η| < 0.8 and transverse momentum 0.2 < pT < 2.0 GeV/c. The amplitude of the fluctuations is expressed in terms of the variance normalized by the mean of the multiplicity distribution. The η and pT dependences of the fluctuations and their evolution with respect to collision centrality are investigated. The multiplicity fluctuations tend to decrease from periphe ...Daha fazlası

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of Υ mesons in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sNN‾‾‾‾√ = 5 TeV is measured with the muon spectrometer of the ALICE detector at the LHC. The yields as well as the nuclear modification factors are determined in the forward rapidity region 2.5

Multiharmonic Correlations of Different Flow Amplitudes in Pb-Pb Collisions at √ s NN = 2.76     TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The event-by-event correlations between three flow amplitudes are measured for the first time in Pb-Pb collisions, using higher-order symmetric cumulants. We find that different three-harmonic correlations develop during the collective evolution of the medium when compared to correlations that exist in the initial state. These new results cannot be interpreted in terms of previous lower-order flow measurements since contributions from two-harmonic correlations are explicitly removed in the new observables. A comparison to Monte Carlo simulations provides new and independent constraints for the ...Daha fazlası

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum distributions in pp and p-Pb collisions at √s, √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed with the ALICE tracking detectors and electromagnetic calorimeter using the anti-kT algorithm with resolution parameter R = 0.4 in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 0.25. The jT values are calculated for charged particles inside a fixed cone with a radius R = 0.4 around the reconstructed jet axis. The measured jT distributions are compared with a variety of parton-shower models. Herwig and Pythi ...Daha fazlası
