Intraspinal Bullet Migration: A Rare Case Report

Bullet migration is rarely reported in the literature. Herein we represent a case of penetrating gunshot injury with bullet migration from thoracic T7 spine to T10. A 34-year-old man was admitted to the emergency department with a gunshot wound on his left shoulder without an exit wound. He was paraplegic. Left hemopneumothorax and humeral fractures were detected on radiological examination. So far, the number of cases with migration is 30, including ours. Treatment is complex and still controversial. Non-strange and strange D-meson and charm-baryon production in heavy-ion collisions measured with ALICE at the LHC

We present recent results on strange and non-strange D-meson production measured with ALICE in Pb-Pb collisions at the LI-IC. In addition, the measurements of the Lambda(+)(c)-baryon production and of the Lambda(+)(c)/D-0 ratio in pp, p-Pb, and, for the first time ever, Pb-Pb collisions are reported.

This paper presents the plasma polymerization of poly(hexa ﬂ uorobutyl acrylate)(PHFBA) thin ﬁ lms on different substrates in an RF plasma reactor with an outer planar electrode. This reactor con ﬁ guration allows large area uniformity and fast processing times. Deposition rates of up to 60 nm min−1 were observed. The in ﬂ uence of plasma power and substrate temperature on the deposition rate, structure and wettability of the as-deposited ﬁ lms was investigated. Inclusive Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) production have been measured in Pb–Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon–nucleon pair √sNN = 5.02 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The Υ mesons are reconstructed in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4 and in the transverse- momentum range pT < 15 GeV/c, via their decays to muon pairs. φ meson measurements provide insight into strangeness production, which is one of the key observables for the hot medium formed in high-energy heavy-ion colli- sions.
