Hypnosis is frequently used in numerous fields of complementary medical treatments. Blood pressure is an important vital sign. The changes manifest itself with hypo/ hypertension. Hypertension is a common and important health problem in society. Our aim is to evaluate the effect of hypnosis on blood pressure in healthy volunteers and to make a preliminary study for treatment of hypertensive patients. Correlation of neutrophil/lymphocyte and platelet/lymphocyte ratios with the severity of idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome

Background: The aim of the present study was to investigate the correlation of the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet/lymphocyte ratio with the severity of idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods: A total of 407 patients with idiopathic CTS (neurophysiologically 150 mild, 144 moderate, and 113 severe) and 206 subjects without CTS were included (control group). Production of charged pions, kaons and protons at large transverse momenta in pp and Pb–Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV

Transverse momentum spectra of π±, K± and p(p ̄) up to pT = 20 GeV/c at mid-rapidity in pp, peripheral (60–80%) and central (0–5%) Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV have been measured using the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The proton-to-pion and the kaon-to-pion ratios both show a distinct peak at pT ≈ 3 GeV/c in central Pb–Pb collisions. Below the peak, pT < 3 GeV/c, both ratios are in good agreement with hydrodynamical calculations, suggesting that the peak itself is dominantly the result of radial flow rather than anomalous hadronization processes. 3ΛH and 3Λ¯ production in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

The production of the hypertriton nuclei 3ΛH and 3Λ¯ has been measured for the first time in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE experiment at LHC. The pT-integrated 3 !H yield in one unity of rapidity, dN/dy × B.R. ! 3 !H→3He,π−" = (3.86 ± 0.77(stat.) ± 0.68(syst.)) × 10−5 in the 0–10% most central collisions, is consistent with the predictions from a statistical thermal model using the same temperature as for the light hadrons. The production of low-mass dielectrons is one of the most promising tools for the investigation of chiral symmetry restoration and thermal radiation from the QGP created in heavy-ion collisions. Measurement of the inclusive J/ψ polarization at forward rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV

We report on the measurement of the inclusive J/ψ polarization parameters in pp collisions at a center of mass energy √s = 8 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.23 pb−1. J/ψ resonances are reconstructed in their di-muon decay channel in the rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4.0 and over the transverse-momentum interval 2 < pT < 15 GeV/c.
