Introduction: Pancreas is a vital organ that produces metabolic hormones and enzymes. Any change in the function of this organ can directly affect the physiological mechanism in the body. Type II diabetes mellitus is a complex metabolic disease. And, this is emerged from either a failure in insulin secretion from pancreatic beta-cell cells or a decrease in pancreatic beta-cell mass. Despite the use of synthetic drugs in the treatment of metabolic diseases, many traditional plant therapies in the world are still used in the treatment of these diseases. The possible effects of grape seed extract ...Daha fazlası

In this study, the genetic diversity was investigated among 12 soybeans genotypes using inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR) and agronomic traits. DNA was isolated from the leaves of the genotypes. For molecular characterization, a total of 26 primers of ISSRs and eight agronomic characteristics were evaluated. ISSR analysis revealed 88 polymorphic bands. The genetic diversity among the genotypes according to ISSR analysis and agronomic traits were estimated based on Nei homology and Euclidian distance, respectively, and dendrograms reflecting genetic similarity were constructed using UPGMA an ...Daha fazlası
Many types of aflatoxin cause problems for both public and animal health. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is the most toxic and commonly encountered fungal toxin that appears in poultry feed and in feeds stored under unsuitable conditions. AFB1 decreases feed quality, egg production and fertility of hatching eggs. Also, AFB1 alters the development of embryos by infecting eggs. We investigated using sequence analysis the changes caused by different concentrations of AFB1 on the promoter sequences of the growth hormone regulated gene-1 (GHRG-1) in chick embryo at 13, 17, 19 and 21 days incubation. DNA isola ...Daha fazlası
Mastitis is an intramammary infection that leads to important economic losses in dairy industry such as increasing the amount of waste milk by affecting the quality and quantity of the milk, removing cows from herd or sending them for slaughter early. Staphylococcus aureus has an important place in the fight against mastitis. In this study, it is aimed to genotyping of the 98 S. aureus isolates that were isolated from bovine mastitis by the polymerase chain reaction of enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus (ERIC-PCR). ERIC primers generated DNA products in sizes ranging between ~8000 ...Daha fazlası
Mespilus germanica L. which has an edible fruit is a medicinal plant whose therapeutic effects have historically been emphasized. In this study, we determined antioxidant capacities of methanolic extracts obtained from M. germanica fruits and seeds by using DPPH assay and Folin-Ciocaltaeu method. It was revealed that the total phenolic contents of methanolic extracts of M. germanica seeds (22.94 mgGAE/g extract) were higher than M. germanica fruits (4.67 mgGAE/g extract). Also, the seed extract (9.33 mgTE/g extract) exhibited stronger free radical scavenging activity in DPPH assay as compared ...Daha fazlası
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is the most widespread and increasingly global prevalence and incidence, and is a chronic metabolic disorder resulting from insulin deficiency or insulin insufficiency. A consequence of this is chronic hyperglycaemia with disturbances of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. In this study, soybean (Glycine max L.) seed extract in wistar rats created experimentally diabetic was aimed to investigate of the effects to some biochemical parameters (Urea, Creatinine, AST, ALT, Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Glucose, LDL, HDL, VLDL) and hyperglycemia. Material and Met ...Daha fazlası
Comparisons based on morphological characters is not enough for making the right decision in the determination of the species of taxonomists. Electrophoretic methods are frequently used by animal systematics in taxonomic studies. Proteins are the product of gene effect and are used as genetic markers that play an important role in determining the taxonomic status. In recent years, electrophoretic investigation of proteins has contributed both to the systematic studies and to the studies done on the biochemistry of fish. As well as determining degrees of relationship among fish that are collect ...Daha fazlası
Aim of the study: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) a chronic metabolic disease which occured as a result of deterioration in the signaling pathways of insulin in the target tissues. And, this case continued throughout the patient's life and reduced quality of life. WNT pathway is involved in lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis, and β-catenin is located in this patway. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of grape seed (Vitis vinifera L.) extracts on β-catenin gene expression in wistar rats created experimental diabetic. Material and Methods: Rats were divided into five groups; healthy ...Daha fazlası
