Background of the Study: Breast cancer, the second most common cause of cancer death, is a global public health problem due to its poor response to treatment and complex aetiology. The MCF-7 cell line is widely used in laboratories around the world for in vitro studies to address this problem. Diazepam is one of the most successful anaesthetics since the beginning of the psychopharmacological revolution. It belongs to a class of benzodiazepines that is often preferred in anaesthesia. Flumazenil is an imidazobenzodiazepine and was the first benzodiazepine antagonist to enter clinical use. The e ...Daha fazlası

Determination Of Cytoxic Effects Of Oxytocin And Atosiban Mcf-7 Cell Line

ERBAYRAM, Fatma Zehra | GÜLBAHÇE MUTLU, Elif | ALPA, Şerife | TÜRKOĞLU, Fatma Nur | ŞEFLEK, Hatice Nur

Background of the Study: Breast cancer, a major cause of cancer-related deaths, is an important health problem due to its inadequate response to treatment and complex etiology. Oxytocin (OT) is a peptide mammalian hormone consisting of nine amino acids. Today, cellular studies of oxytocin have gained importance. Oxytocin has been observed to inhibit cell proliferation in cancer. The biggest advantage of oxytocin therapies is that they provide the organism with cell production on its own and have no side effects. Studies have shown that OT is a factor that stimulates cell proliferation in lung, ...Daha fazlası

Semen Microbiome Dysbiosis In Male Infertility

ŞEFLEK, Hatice Nur | ERBAYRAM, Fatma Zehra | TOKAK, Semik

Infertility is a major health problem and is increasing worldwide. The shift in the age at which both partners have their first child to older ages and lifestyle changes have contributed to the increase in the incidence of infertility. 50% of infertility in couples is due to male infertility. In vitro studies show that bacteria can negatively affect sperm function. Bacteria; has been shown to play an important role in many mechanisms that affect sperm function, including agglutination of motile sperm, induction of apoptosis, production of immobilization factors, and disruption of acrosome resp ...Daha fazlası

The Effect Of Coenzyme Q10 Administration On The Expression Of Some Genes In Rats With Hypothroidia

ŞEFLEK, Hatice Nur | GÜLBAHÇE MUTLU, Elif | CÜCE, Gökhan | KALKAN, Serpil

Introduction: Hypothyroidism is an endocrine disorder that occurs mainly due to the insufficiency of thyroid hormones in the body or the inability of these hormones to affect target tissues. As a result of the insufficiency of thyroid hormones, the systems are affected and accordingly, the health status of individuals is adversely affected. Coenzyme Q10 is a lipophilic antioxidant that plays a role in membrane stability, energy conversion and ATP production. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Coenzyme Q10 on GDNF, PLZF, SOX3 and THY1 gene expression levels in rats with hypoth ...Daha fazlası

Objectives: Candidiasis is the most frequently encountered fungal infection, with ranges from mild superficial infections to disseminated candidiasis. Most manifestations of Candidiasis are associated with biofilm formation. Candida biofilms contributes to therapeutic failure due to resistance to antimicrobial agents and causes an increase in mortality rates. For these reasons, finding new drugs and antimicrobial agents are urgently needed. Sulfonyl hydrazones derived from sulfonamide, are well-known for its pharmacological effects, such as antifungal, antibacterial potential activity. This st ...Daha fazlası

NSANGOU, Ahmed Moustapha | SAMADZADE, Rugiyya | DURAN, Tuğçe | MAÇİN, Salih | AYDIN TERZİOĞLU, Merve | FINDIK, Duygu

Candida species are yeast fungi that are common in nature and can cause both superficial and deep infections. According to recent data, Candida species are considered to be the main causative agents of healthcare-associated infections. In this study, it was aimed to determine Candida species, Sap genes and biofilm formation isolated from blood cultures, which are health care-associated infectious agents, and to evaluate them together with antifungal susceptibility tests. Candida spp. were identified by the Vitek 2 Compact method and then the results were verified by multiplex PCR and DNA seque ...Daha fazlası
