Hierarchical representation of video sequences for annotation

Video annotation is an important issue in video content management systems. Rapid growth of the digital video data has created a need for efficient and reasonable mechanisms that can ease the annotation process. In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical clustering based system for video annotation. The proposed system generates a top-down hierarchy of the video streams using hierarchical k-means clustering. A 3D face animation system for mobile devices

In this paper, we present a 3D face animation system rendered on mobile devices. The system automatically creates realistic facial animation from text input with emotion tags. First, an input string is converted into synthetic voice and phonetic information. Then, 3D head model performs facial movements synchronized to the speech. The proposed system offers an affordable quick solution for applications that require virtual actors speaking text in which human-machine interfaces on mobile devices can profit.

Turkish Sign Language Animation with Motion Capture

In this paper, using motion capture, we study on Turkish Sign Language Animation. A markerless system, Microsoft Kinect sensor and a professional optical system are compared. Besides, we use the motion capture data in two different approaches; data driven and real time. To animate the sign language, we merge the motion capture output with a cartoon character. In the first approach, which is data-driven, motion capture data is recorded, processed and converted to a character animation off-line.
