Detection of the Electronic Attributes of the Nanostructured Materials with Fuzzy Logic

This is a study, in which a trial was done to estimate the energy band gap (Eg) of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) by using a fuzzy logic algorithm that uses five inputs (strain value, fermi energy level, average energy, repulsive potential and electronic band structure energy).

Measuring K0S K± interactions using pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

We present the first measurements of femtoscopic correlations between the K0 and K± particles in pp √S collisions at s = 7 TeV measured by the ALICE experiment. The observed femtoscopic correlations are consistent with final-state interactions proceeding solely via the a0(980) resonance. The extracted kaon source radius and correlation strength parameters for K0SK− are found to be equal within the experimental uncertainties to those for K0K+. J/ψ production as a function of charged-particle pseudorapidity density in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

We report measurements of the inclusive J/ψ yield and average transverse momentum as a function of charged-particle pseudorapidity density dNch/dη in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. The observables are normalised to their corresponding averages in non-single diffractive events. An increase of the normalised J/ψ yield with normalised dNch/dη, measured at mid-rapidity, is observed at mid-rapidity and backward rapidity. Longitudinal asymmetry and its effect on pseudorapidity distributions in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

First results on the longitudinal asymmetry and its effect on the pseudorapidity distributions in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider are obtained with the ALICE detector. The longitudinal asymmetry arises because of an unequal number of participating nucleons from the two colliding nuclei, and is estimated for each event by measuring the energy in the forward neutron-Zero- Degree-Calorimeters (ZNs). π0 and η meson production in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV

An invariant differential cross section measure- ment of inclusive π 0 and η meson production at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV was carried out by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The spectra of π0 and η mesons were measured in transverse momentum ranges of 0.3 < pT < 35GeV/cand0.5 < pT < 35GeV/c, respectively. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD cal- culations using fragmentation functions DSS14 for the π0 and AESSS for the η overestimate the cross sections of both neutral mesons, although such calculations agree with the measured η/π0 ratio within uncertainties. Neutral pion and η meson production in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

Neutral pion and η meson invariant differential yields were measured in non-single diffractive p–Pb colli- sions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC. The analysis combines results from three complementary photon measurements, utilizing the PHOS and EMCal calorimeters and the Photon Conversion Method. The invariant differential yields of π0 and η meson inclu- sive production are measured near mid-rapidity in a broad transverse momentum range of 0.3 < pT < 20 GeV/c and 0.7 < pT < 20 GeV/c, respectively. Neutral pion and η meson production at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

Neutral pion and η meson production in the transverse momentum range 1 < pT < 20 GeV/c have been measured at midrapidity by the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in central and semicentral Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. These results were obtained using the photon conversion method as well as the Photon Spectrometer (PHOS) and Electromagnetic Calorimeter detectors.
