Image quality assessment has a great importance in several image processing applications. Recently, various objective image quality metrics have been proposed in order to predict human visual perception. In this paper, novel image quality metrics, S-SSIM (saliency-based structural similarity index) and S-VIF (saliency-based visual information fidelity), are proposed based on a visual attention model extracting frequency-tuned salient region. Saliency maps are produced from the color and luminance features of the image. SSIM and VIF in pixel domain are modified by the weighting factors of the s ...Daha fazlası

In this paper a new adaptive Brain Computer Interface (BCI) architecture is proposed that allows to autonomously adapt the BCI parameters in malfunctioning situations. Such situations are detected by discriminating EEG Error Potentials and when necessary the BCI mode is switched back to the training stage in order to improve its performance. First, the modules of the adaptive BCI are presented, then the scenarios for identification of the user reaction to intentionally introduced errors are discussed and finally promising preliminary results are commented. The proposed concept has the potentia ...Daha fazlası
This paper includes a comparative application of the digital filters on data processing for the strong motion data recorded during earthquakes. Three types of digital, acausal filters (designed by Butterworth, Bessel, and Chebyshev type I) with N=4 were used to remove the unwanted noise. The data has been collected from three different stations located in Turkey (Adana, Van, and Bingol) that are working with a digital type of seismograph (Guralp cmg5td and SigSasmach). Those stations are close to the earthquake events with different moment magnitudes Mw = 4.5, 3.8, and 3.3. The SAC software to ...Daha fazlası
