Charged jet cross sections and properties in proton-proton collisions at root s=7 TeV

The differential charged jet cross sections, jet fragmentation distributions, and jet shapes are measured in pffiffi minimum bias proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energy s 1⁄4 7 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed from charged particle momenta in the midrapidity region using the sequential recombination kT and anti-kT as well as the SISCone jet finding algorithms with several resolution parameters in the range R 1⁄4 0.2–0.6. K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) production in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

The yields of the K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) resonances are measured in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV through their hadronic decays using the ALICE detector. The measurements are performed in multiple centrality intervals at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) in the transverse-momentum ranges 0.3 < pT < 5 GeV/c for the K∗(892)0 and 0.5 < pT < 5 GeV/c for the φ(1020). Hypereutectic Al-Si alloys are typically used in applications where wear resistance is required. The primary factor that determines the wear properties is the morphology of Si in these types of alloys. Pouring temperature is one of the ways to control Si size and shape. On the other hand, bifilm defects that may be present in the liquid can significantly alter the morphology of Si acting as a heterogeneous nucleant. Forward-backward multiplicity correlations in pp collisions at √s = 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV

The strength of forward-backward (FB) multiplicity correlations is measured √ s = 0.9, 2.76 and 7TeV. The measurement is performed in the central pseudorapidity region (|η| < 0.8) for the transverse momentum pT > 0.3GeV/c. Two separate pseudorapidity windows of width (δη) ranging from 0.2 to 0.8 are chosen symmetrically around η = 0. The multiplicity correlation strength (bcorr) is studied as a function of the pseudorapidity gap (ηgap) between the two windows as well as the width of these windows.
