Elliptic flow of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The elliptic flow of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.7) is measured in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. The particle azimuthal distribution with respect to the reaction plane can be parametrized with a Fourier expansion, where the second coefficient (v2) represents the elliptic flow. The v2 coefficient of inclusive electrons is measured in three centrality classes (0–10%, 10–20% and 20–40%) with the event plane and the scalar product methods in the transverse momentum (pT) intervals 0.5–13GeV/c and 0.5–8GeV/c, respectively. After su ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of D-meson production versus multiplicity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Abstract: The measurement of prompt D-meson production as a function of multiplic- ity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC is re- ported. D0, D+ and D∗+ mesons are reconstructed via their hadronic decay channels in the centre-of-mass rapidity range −0.96 < ycms < 0.04 and transverse momentum interval 1 < pT < 24 GeV/c. The multiplicity dependence of D-meson production is examined by either comparing yields in p–Pb collisions in different event classes, selected based on the multiplicity of produced particles or zero-degree energy, with those in pp collisions ...Daha fazlası

Event-shape engineering for inclusive spectra and elliptic flow in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report on results obtained with the event-shape engineering technique applied to Pb-Pb collisions at sNN = 2.76 TeV. By selecting events in the same centrality interval, but with very different average flow, different initial-state conditions can be studied. We find the effect of the event-shape selection on the elliptic flow coefficient v2 to be almost independent of transverse momentum pT, which is as expected if this effect is attributable to fluctuations in the initial geometry of the system. Charged-hadron, -pion, -kaon, and -proton transverse momentum distributions are found to be har ...Daha fazlası

Housing Development In Turkey Since The Republic’s Announcement

BACAK, Fatma Nur

Housing is a physical space where man finds himself from the moment a person comes to the World, the first steps are taken in the development of personality and selfness, the rules of social relations and social values are acquired and reproduced. It is the most important place to eat, to sleep, to get personal needs, shortly, to live in [1]. From the former time to daily time, these places are changing and developing day by day with many effects such as living conditions, environmental conditions, political interactions, aesthetic, climate conditions and population increase. In terms of polit ...Daha fazlası

Energy dependence of forward-rapidity J/ψ and ψ(2S) production in pp collisions at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Abstract We present results on transverse momentum (pt) and rapidity (y) differential production cross sections, mean transverse momentum and mean transverse momen- tum square of inclusive J/ψ and ψ(2S) at forward rapid- ity (2.5 < y < 4) as well as ψ(2S)-to-J/ψ cross section ratios. These quantities are measured in pp collisions at cen- ter of mass energies √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV with the ALICE detector. Both charmonium states are reconstructed in the dimuon decay channel, using the muon spectrometer. A com- prehensive comparison to inclusive charmonium cross sec- tions measured at √s = 2.76, 7 ...Daha fazlası

J/ψ Elliptic Flow in Pb-Pb Collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report a precise measurement of the J=ψ elliptic flow in Pb-Pb collisions at sNN 1⁄4 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The J=ψ mesons are reconstructed at midrapidity (jyj < 0.9) in the dielectron decay channel and at forward rapidity (2.5 < y < 4.0) in the dimuon channel, both down to zero transverse momentum. At forward rapidity, the elliptic flow v2 of the J=ψ is studied as a function of the transverse momentum and centrality. A positive v2 is observed in the transverse momentum range 2 < pT < 8 GeV=c in the three centrality classes studied and confirms with higher statistics ...Daha fazlası

J/ψ production as a function of charged-particle pseudorapidity density in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report measurements of the inclusive J/ψ yield and average transverse momentum as a function of charged-particle pseudorapidity density dNch/dη in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. The observables are normalised to their corresponding averages in non-single diffractive events. An increase of the normalised J/ψ yield with normalised dNch/dη, measured at mid-rapidity, is observed at mid-rapidity and backward rapidity. At forward rapidity, a saturation of the relative yield is observed for high charged-particle multiplicities. The normalised average transverse momentum ...Daha fazlası

K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) meson production at high transverse momentum in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) mesons in proton-proton (pp) and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV has been analyzed using a high luminosity data sample accumulated in 2011 with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Transverse momentum (pT) spectra have been measured for K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) mesons via their hadronic decay channels for pT up to 20 GeV/c. The measurements in pp collisions have been compared to model calculations and used to determine the nuclear modification factor and particle ratios. The K∗(892)0/K ratio exhibits significant reduction fro ...Daha fazlası

Centrality dependence of inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present a measurement of inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02TeV as a function of the centrality of the collision, as estimated from the energy deposited in the Zero Degree Calorimeters. The measurement is performed with the ALICE detector down to zero transverse momentum, pT, in the backward (−4.46 < ycms < −2.96) and forward (2.03 < ycms < 3.53) rapidity intervals in the dimuon decay channel and in the mid-rapidity region (−1.37 < ycms < 0.43) in the dielectron decay channel. The backward and forward rapidity intervals correspond to the Pb-going and p-going direction ...Daha fazlası

Transverse momentum spectra and nuclear modification factors of charged particles in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Transverse momentum (pT) spectra of charged particles at mid-pseudorapidity in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV measured with the ALICE apparatus at the Large Hadron Collider are reported. The kinematic range 0.15 < pT < 50 GeV/c and |η| < 0.8 is covered. Results are presented in nine classes of collision centrality in the 0–80% range. For comparison, a pp reference at the collision energy of √s = 5.44 TeV is obtained by interpolating between existing pp measurements at √s = 5.02 and 7 TeV. The nuclear modification factors in central Xe–Xe collisions and Pb–Pb collisions at a similar center ...Daha fazlası

Unveiling the strong interaction among hadrons at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

One of the key challenges for nuclear physics today is to understand from frst principles the efective interaction between hadrons with diferent quark content. First successes have been achieved using techniques that solve the dynamics of quarks and gluons on discrete space-time lattices1,2 . Experimentally, the dynamics of the strong interaction have been studied by scattering hadrons of each other. Such scattering experiments are difcult or impossible for unstable hadrons3–6 and so high-quality measurements exist only for hadrons containing up and down quarks7 . Here we demonstrate that meas ...Daha fazlası
