Biogas Potential Of Ereğli City

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

Turkey's growth and development goals mean that its energy need will increase rapidly in proportion to its growth. Meeting the increasing energy need from fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas causes the depletion of natural resources. Another problem is that the increase in energy demand is increasingly met with imports. The solution of this problem is to diversify the energy supply with renewable energy sources. Biogas is one of the renewable energy sources. Biogas potential of Ereğli District was revealed in this study.

Utilization of Waste for Energy Generation in Clinker Production: Environmental Perspective

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

Meeting the increasing energy need from fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas caused the rapid depletion of natural resources. In a world where the need for energy is constantly increasing and resources are getting scarce, it is necessary to ensure the sustainability of energy. Clinker production is a process which require high amount of energy in manufacturing industry. The fact that energy is mostly obtained from coal, which is a non-renewable fuel, puts the future of the sustainability of cement production at risk. Alternative fuel usage plays the most important role in achieving m ...Daha fazlası

Use Of Marble Waste As Alternative Raw Material For Sustainable Cement Production

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

The materials which have the property of hardening and bonding the materials around it in the reaction with water are called "Hydraulic Binder". Cement; it is a water-insoluble hydraulic binder which subsequently hardens with water and air. The increase of the world population, the widespread of reinforced concrete construction, improvement of construction techniques increases the need of cement every day. The cement manufacturing sector is at the forefront of natural raw materials-intensive sectors. Raw materials containing silicon, aluminum, calcium and iron-oxide are used in cement producti ...Daha fazlası

Using Of Pumice And Corbonification Sludge For Sustainable Agriculture

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem | KARAKAPLAN, Saim

The recovery of wastewater sludge in agriculture is an opportunity for minimization of waste. Sustainable production approach will be provided by using sugar wastes in agriculture. The aim of this study is to research the effects of sugar industry sludge and pumice on soil properties and the plant growth characteristics as a soil conditioner. For this purpose, a greenhouse experiment was conducted on the soil samples taken from three different locations in Konya where the corn is a primary crop grown. The experiment was established in randomized plots experimental design with three replication ...Daha fazlası

Kompost ve Biyogaz Tesisleri Alanında Konya Sinerjisi

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem | BAŞTAN, Erdal

Storage of livestock waste on inappropriate conditions; creating visual pollution and various gases resulting from waste stack affect the air quality of the region negatively. Uncontrolled landfilling of waste threatens human and environmental health, as it destroys both the soil and groundwater since it destroys the biological structure of the soil. It is necessary to get rid of the contradiction of evaluating organic waste, important source of energy and fertilizer, when environmental problems caused by organic waste and external dependence on energy and chemical fertilizer are taken into co ...Daha fazlası

The Use Of Sugar Factory Sludge As Alternative Raw Materıal For Sustainable Cement Producing With Industrial Symbiosis

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

Construction increases in parallel with the population growth and development in the world. The expansion of the reinforced concrete construction system and the rapid development of its techniques have been increasing the need for cement, which is the most important component of concrete, day by day. Cement industry is the leading-sector among the sectors where natural resources are most used. The scarcity of natural resource is the one of the biggest obstacles in the industry. During sugar production, unwanted substances present in the raw sugar are precipitated with lime milk [Ca(OH)2] and C ...Daha fazlası

Short-Term Prediction of PM2. 5 Pollution with Deep Learning Methods

AYTURAN, Yasin Akın | AYTURAN, Zeynep Cansu | ALTUN, Hüseyin Oktay | KONGOLİ, Cezar | TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem | DURSUN, Şükrü | ÖZTÜRK, Ali

Particulate matter (PM), classified according to aerodynamic diameter, is one of the harmful pollutants causing health damaging effects. It is considered as cancerogenic by the World Health Organization (WHO) because of the substances found in the chemical composition of PM. In this study, short-term prediction of PM2.5 pollution at 1, 2 and 3 hours was modelled using deep learning methods. Three deep learning algorithms and the combination thereof were evaluated: Long-short term memory units (LSTM), recurrent neural networks (RNN) and gated recurrent unit (GRU). Air Quality Monitoring Station ...Daha fazlası

Greenhouse Gas Reduction Through Use of Waste as an Alternative Fuel

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

The problem caused by the usage of storage and incineration methods for disposal of waste is one of the most important environmental problems today. The usage of waste as alternative fuels or raw materials in the cement industry reduces the consumption of nonrenewable energy resources and prevents the rapid depletion of natural resources. The co-processing of waste with raw materials in the cement industry is an opportunity to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. In the cement industry, a cement clinker kiln with a long retention time and an oxidation atmosphere at high temperature provides combus ...Daha fazlası

Usage Of Mineral Waste Oil As Alternative Fuel For Sustainable Energy In The Cement Sector

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

Energy needs are increasingly growing due to the mechanization of industry by the industrial revolution, increased production in line with increased population, higher prosperity levels, and abundance of electrical tools. Mineral oil get polluted chemically and physically and become unusable after a certain amount of usage. As natural resources are limited, mineral waste oil need to be recycled in order to reduce production costs and achieve sustainable energy acquisition. Cement factories are energy-intensive businesses and among industries that have the highest needs for energy. With usage o ...Daha fazlası

Recovery of Sugar Industry Waste-Carbonation Sludge With Industrial Symbiosis

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

One of the most important wastes produced during the production of sugar is the carbonation sludge. Carbonated sludge, which is very high in quantity and is a storage problem, causes environmental pollution. Many plants which use calcium carbonate as their raw material meet needs from natural sources. The depleted natural resources give priority to the concept of sustainability. One of the most important tools of the concept of sustainability is industrial symbiosis. In this study, it was revealed that carbonation sludge which emerged as waste during sugar production could be used as raw mater ...Daha fazlası

Improving the bio-reclamation efficiency of petrol-derived wastes with Trichocladium Canadense

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem | ÇALIŞIYOR, Aslınur | ÖZBAYRAM, Emine Gözde | İNCE, Bahar | İNCE, Orhan | TOPRAK, Songül

It is known that petroleum and its derivatives causes significant pollution in the environment as a result of accidents during the production, transportation and utilization processes. The low boiling compounds and aromatics present in the structure of the petroleum (including PAH and MAH) have toxic and even some carcinogenic effects on living organisms (Aydın et al., 2016). These wastes are not easily biodegradable due to the complex structure and accumulate in the soil which affect the soil structure and reduce the water retention therefore reducing its fertility (Mohan et al., 2011). Altho ...Daha fazlası
