Measurement of deuteron spectra and elliptic flow in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The transverse momentum ( pT ) spectra and elliptic flow coefficient (v2) of deuterons and anti-deuterons at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) are measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. The measurement of the pT spectra of (anti-)deuterons is done up to 8 GeV/c in 0–10% centrality class and up to 6 GeV/c in 10–20% and 20–40% centrality classes. The v2 is measured in the 0.8 < pT < 5 GeV/c interval and in six dif- ferent centrality intervals (0–5, 5–10, 10–20, 20–30, 30–40 and 40–50%) using the scalar product technique. Measured π ± , K± and p+p transverse-mo ...Daha fazlası

Production of deuterons, tritons, 3He nuclei, and their antinuclei in pp collisions at √s = 0.9, 2.76, and 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Invariant differential yields of deuterons and antideuterons in pp collisions at √s = 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV and the yields of tritons, 3He nuclei, and their antinuclei at √s = 7 TeV have been measured with the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurements cover a wide transverse momentum (pT) range in the rapidity interval |y| < 0.5, extending both the energy and the pT reach of previous measurements up to 3 GeV/c for A = 2 and 6 GeV/c for A = 3. The coalescence parameters of (anti)deuterons and 3He nuclei exhibit an increasing trend with pT and are found to be compatible wi ...Daha fazlası

Dielectron production in proton-proton collisions at s√ = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first measurement of e+e− pair production at mid-rapidity (|ηe| < 0.8) in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV with ALICE at the LHC is presented. The dielectron production is studied as a function of the invariant mass (mee < 3.3 GeV/c2), the pair transverse momentum (pT,ee < 8 GeV/c), and the pair transverse impact parameter (DCAee), i.e., the average distance of closest approach of the reconstructed electron and positron tracks to the collision vertex, normalised to its resolution. The results are compared with the expectations from a cocktail of known hadronic sources and are well described when ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of dielectron production in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first measurement of dielectron (e+e−) production in central (0–10%) Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76TeV at the LHC is presented. The dielectron invariant-mass spectrum is compared to the expected contributions from hadron decays in the invariant-mass range 0 < mee < 3.5 GeV/c2. The ratio of data and the cocktail of hadronic contributions without vacuum ρ0 is measured in the invariant-mass range 0.15 < mee < 0.7 GeV/c2, where an excess of dielectrons is observed in other experiments, and its value is 1.40 ± 0.28 (stat.) ± 0.08 (syst.) ± 0.27 (cocktail). The dielectron spectrum measured in t ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of dijet kT in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

A measurement of dijet correlations in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector is presented. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles measured in the central tracking detectors and neutral energy deposited in the electromagnetic calorimeter. The transverse momentum of the full jet (clustered from charged and neutral constituents) and charged jet (clustered from charged particles only) is corrected event-by-event for the contribution of the underlying event, while corrections for underlying event fluctuations and finite detector resolution are applied on an inclusive bas ...Daha fazlası

Elliptic flow of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The elliptic flow of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.7) is measured in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. The particle azimuthal distribution with respect to the reaction plane can be parametrized with a Fourier expansion, where the second coefficient (v2) represents the elliptic flow. The v2 coefficient of inclusive electrons is measured in three centrality classes (0–10%, 10–20% and 20–40%) with the event plane and the scalar product methods in the transverse momentum (pT) intervals 0.5–13GeV/c and 0.5–8GeV/c, respectively. Forecasting of solar radiation using different machine learning approaches

DEMİR, Vahdettin | ÇITAKOĞLU, Hatice

In this study, monthly solar radiation (SR) estimation was performed using five different machine learning-based approaches. The models used are support vector machine regression (SVMR), long short-term memory (LSTM), Gaussian process regression (GPR), extreme learning machines (ELM) and K-nearest neighbors (KNN). Modeling of these approaches was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, VIF analysis was carried out to develop the model. Thus, the input parameters that decrease the performance of the model are removed. In the second stage, remaining input parameters such as meteorological ...Daha fazlası

Search for weakly decaying

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present results of a search for two hypothetical strange dibaryon states, i.e. the H-dibaryon and the possible !n bound state. The search is performed with the ALICE detector in central (0–10%) Pb– Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV, by invariant mass analysis in the decay modes !n → dπ+ and Hdibaryon → !pπ−. No evidence for these bound states is observed. Upper limits are determined at 99% confidence level for a wide range of lifetimes and for the full range of branching ratios. The results are compared to thermal, coalescence and hybrid UrQMD model expectations, which describe correctly the ...Daha fazlası

Elliptic flow of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The elliptic flow, v2, of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at forward rapidity (2.5 < y < 4) is measured in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The scalar product, two- and four-particle Q cumulants and Lee–Yang zeros methods are used. The dependence of the v2 of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays on the collision centrality, in the range 0–40%, and on transverse momentum, pT, is studied in the interval 3 < pT < 10 GeV/c. A positive v2 is observed with the scalar product and two-particle Q cumulants in semi-central collisions (10–20% and 20–40% cen ...Daha fazlası
