Abstract
With the industrialization process, the capitalist system began to move away from ethical and moral values rapidly. Today, with the globalisation of the world economy, especially recent corporate scandals in America and Europe have once again revealed the importance of ethical and moral values in the field of Economics. In this context, rather than being considered as a mechanical structure, companies should be considered as a structure that has an obligation to act with these ethical and moral values towards their stakeholders, employees and concerned people. In Islamic societies, ethics and morality have always been intertwined with economics and considered inseparable elements. In this study, the concept of ethics and its developments were investigated and similar and different aspects with the concept of morality were revealed and the meaning of the concepts in Islamic terms was emphasized. The principles of ethics and moral values in the Islamic economy have been tried to be determined on the basis of the Qur'an and Sunnah and examples of applications have been given from our Prophet (pbuh)’s days to the present day. Finally, the likely effects of Islamic concepts of ethics and morality on economic growth and development were put forward.
