Abstract

Dünyada oluşan teknolojik gelişmeler, artan bilgi düzeyi, değişen çevresel koşullar, yeni bir yönetim anlayışının doğmasına sebep olmakta ve bu değişim sürecinin yönetimi ve başarısında liderlik kavramı çok önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Sosyal sermaye ise; yapısal, ilişkisel ve bilişsel boyutları ile işletme içinde ve dışında, bilgiye ulaşmak, bu bilgiyi paylaşmak ve yeni bilgiler yaratmak gibi faaliyetlerde liderler için vazgeçilmez bir unsur olmaktadır. Liderlik alanında yazılmış pek çok çalışma olmasına rağmen, liderliğin sosyal sermaye üzerindeki etkisini ölçmeye yönelik çok az sayıda çalışma bulunmaktadır. İşletmeler için hem liderlik hem de sosyal sermaye konuları vazgeçilmez bir öneme sahiptir. Buradan hareketle bu araştırmada, yöneticilerin sahip olduğu liderlik tarzlarından, etkileşimci liderlik ve dönüşümcü liderlik tarzları ile sosyal sermaye arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemeyi amaçlayan bir anket uygulamasına yer verilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda; etkileşimci liderlik tarzının sosyal sermaye üzerinde bir ilişkisi bulunmazken, dönüşümcü liderlik tarzı ve sosyal sermaye arasında pozitif yönlü, anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Yöneticiler tarafından dönüşümcü liderlik tarzının benimsenmesi, sosyal sermaye düzeyini etkili bir şekilde arttırmaktadır. Ayrıca geleneksel liderlik yaklaşımlarının ötesinde, dönüşümcü liderlik yöneticilerin değişimlere uyum sağlama, değişimlere hazır olma özelliklerini ön plana çıkarmaktadır.

The technological developments in the world, the increasing level of knowledge and the changing environmental conditions lead to the emergence of a new management approach and the concept of "leadership" plays a very important role in the success and the management of this process of change. The social capital is an indispensable component for the leaders with its structural, relational and cognitive dimensions in and beyond business and in such activities as the access to information and the sharing of this information, and creating new knowledge. Although there are many studies written in the field of leadership, there are very few studies to measure the impact of the leadership on the social capital. For the institutions, both the topic of leadership and social capital have an indispensable importance. Thus in this study, a questionnaire survey aiming to determine the relationship between the social capital and the leadership styles of the managers, transactional leadership and transformational leadership styles has been included. As a result of the research; while there is no relationship of the transactional leadership style on the social capital, a positive significant relationship has been identified between the transformational leadership style and the social capital. The adoption of transformational leadership style by administrators effectively increase the level of social capital. Also beyond the traditional leadership approaches, transformational leadership has brought the managers' characteristics of adapting to changes and of being prepared to the changes, to the forefront.
