Freezing Range, Melt Quality, and Hot Tearing in Al-Si Alloys

ULUDAĞ, Muhammet | ÇETİN, Remzi | DIŞPINAR, Derya

In this study, three different aluminum-silicon alloys (A356, A413, and A380) that have different solidification morphology and solidification ranges were examined with an aim to evaluate the hot tearing susceptibility. T-shape mold and Constrained Rod Casting (CRC) mold were used for the characterization. Reduced Pressure Test (RPT) was used to quantify the casting quality by measuring bifilm index. It was found that bifilm index and solidification range have an important role on the hot tearing formation. As it is known, bifilms can cause porosity and in this case, it was shown that porosity ...Daha fazlası

J/ψ elliptic and triangular flow in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) mesons has been measured in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV. K∗0 and φ are reconstructed via their decay into charged hadrons with the ALICE detector in the rapidity range −0.5 < y < 0. The transverse momentum spectra, measured as a function of the multiplicity, have a pT range from 0 to 15 GeV/c for K∗0 and from 0.3 to 21 GeV/c for φ. Integrated yields, mean transverse momenta and particle ratios are reported and compared with results in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV and Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. In Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions, K∗0 and φ probe ...Daha fazlası

Hydrophobic coating of surfaces by plasma polymerization in an RF plasma reactor with an outer planar electrode: synthesis, characterization and biocompatibility

KARAMAN, Mustafa | GÜRSOY, Mehmet | AYKÜL, Fatmanur | TOSUN, Zahide | DEMİREL KARS, Meltem | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir

This paper presents the plasma polymerization of poly(hexa fl uorobutyl acrylate)(PHFBA) thin fi lms on different substrates in an RF plasma reactor with an outer planar electrode. This reactor con fi guration allows large area uniformity and fast processing times. Deposition rates of up to 60 nm min−1 were observed. The in fl uence of plasma power and substrate temperature on the deposition rate, structure and wettability of the as-deposited fi lms was investigated. It was observed that better hydrophobicity was obtained at high plasma power and in low temperature conditions. PHFBA thin fi lms depo ...Daha fazlası

Υ suppression at forward rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Inclusive Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) production have been measured in Pb–Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon–nucleon pair √sNN = 5.02 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The Υ mesons are reconstructed in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4 and in the transverse- momentum range pT < 15 GeV/c, via their decays to muon pairs. In this Letter, we present results on the inclusive Υ(1S) nuclear modification factor RAA as a function of collision centrality, transverse momentum and rapidity. The Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) RAA, integrated over the centrality range 0–90%, are 0.37± 0 ...Daha fazlası

Searches for transverse momentum dependent flow vector fluctuations in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The measurement of azimuthal correlations of charged particles is presented forPb–Pbcollisionsat√sNN =2.76TeVandp–Pbcollisionsat√sNN =5.02TeVwiththe ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. These correlations are measured for the second, third and fourth order flow vector in the pseudorapidity region |η| < 0.8 as a function of centrality and transverse momentum pT using two observables, to search for evidence of pT-dependent flow vector fluctuations. For Pb–Pb collisions at 2.76TeV, the measurements indicate that pT-dependent fluctuations are only present for the second order flow vec ...Daha fazlası

φ meson production at forward rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

φ meson measurements provide insight into strangeness production, which is one of the key observables for the hot medium formed in high-energy heavy-ion colli- sions. ALICE measured φ production through its decay in muon pairs in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV in the intermediate transverse momentum range 2 < pT < 5 GeV/c and in the rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4. The φ yield was measured as a function of the transverse momen- tum and collision centrality. The nuclear modification factor was obtained as a function of the average number of par- ticipating nucleons. Results were compared wit ...Daha fazlası

Suppression of Λ(1520) resonance production in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production yield of the Λ(1520) baryon resonance is measured at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at sNN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The measurement is performed in the Λ(1520)→pK- (and charge conjugate) hadronic decay channel as a function of the transverse momentum (pT) and collision centrality. The ratio of the pT-integrated production of Λ(1520) baryons relative to Λ baryons in central collisions is suppressed by about a factor of 2 with respect to peripheral collisions. This is the first observation of the suppression of a baryonic resonance at ...Daha fazlası

Inclusive J/ψ production at forward and backward rapidity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 8.16 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Inclusive J/ψ production is studied in p-Pb interactions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision sNN−−−√=8.16 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ meson is reconstructed, via its decay to a muon pair, in the centre-of-mass rapidity intervals 2.03< ycms< 3.53 and −4.46< ycms< −2.96, where positive and negative ycms refer to the p-going and Pb-going direction, respectively. The transverse momentum coverage is pT< 20 GeV/c. In this paper, ycms- and pT-differential cross sections for inclusive J/ψ production are presented, and the corresponding nuclear modificati ...Daha fazlası

Inclusive J/ψ production at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Inclusive J/ψ production is studied in minimum-bias proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √s = 5.02 TeV by ALICE at the CERN LHC. The measurement is performed at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.9) in the dielectron decay channel down to zero transverse momentum pT, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity tion is dσ/dy = 5.64 ± 0.22(stat.) ± 0.33(syst.) ± 0.12(lumi.) μb. The pT-differential cross section d2σ/dpTdy is measured in the pT range 0–10GeV/c and compared with state-of- the-art QCD calculations. The J/ψ ⟨pT⟩ and ⟨p2T⟩ are extracted and compared with results ...Daha fazlası
