Problem of Research: The success of the health services provided is very important for the health sector and the health economy. The success of the health service provided to the patients is related to the patient's compliance with the treatment plan recommended to him as well as the quality of the health service provided. For this reason, it is important to determine the factors that affect patients' compliance with treatment. Purpose of the Study: In this study, it is aimed to determine the effect of patients' health literacy levels on their compliance with treatment and to reveal whether patient-physician communication has a mediator role in this effect. Method: The study is designed as a cross-sectional study. 350 people who live in Konya city centre and over the age of 18 participated in the study. In the study, the questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire form used consists of four parts: socio-demographic characteristics form, patient-physician communication scale, health literacy scale and physician compliance scale. Descriptive statistical methods, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and Hayes Process Macro Model 4 analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Results: According to the findings of the study, there are significant positive correlations between the health literacy of the participants, patient-physician communication, and treatment compliance. As a result of the SEM analysis, it was concluded that the health literacy of the participants affected their compliance with the treatment and the patient-physician communication had a mediator role in this effect. Conclusion: Considering the results of the study, it can be stated that it is important to increase the health literacy level of individuals and to strengthen patient-physician communication in order to increase the compliance of individuals to treatment.
