The Effects of Oil Price Shocks on Clean Energy and Oil and Gas Stock Returns

UÇKUN ÖZKAN, Ayşegül

This study empirically examines how fluctuations in oil prices affect the stock returns of clean energy and oil and gas companies between 2001:01 and 2022:06. Our results show that a negative oil supply shock affects the stock returns of clean energy companies positively. In contrast, an oil-specific demand shock negatively affects them. The findings also reveal that an increase in oil prices owing to an oil-specific demand shock tends not to improve the stock returns of oil and gas companies. Consequently, the results indicate that oil and clean energy are not alternatives.

The impact of investor attention on green bond returns: How do market uncertainties and investment performances of clean energy and oil and gas markets affect the connectedness between investor attention and green bond?

UÇKUN ÖZKAN, Ayşegül

This paper empirically investigates the spillover between investor attention and green bond returns by utilizing the connectedness approach. We will examine the impact of uncertainty in the stock, bond, and energy markets, as well as the success of clean energy, oil, and gas investments, on the relationship between green bonds and investor attention. We find that there are positive but small spillovers between investor attention and green bond returns. Besides, the connectedness between investor attention and green bond market performance is stronger in the short run than in the long run. Furt ...Daha fazlası

The Energy Cost Comparison Using Mixed Integer Linear Programming and Simulated Annealing Method in Smart Home

GÜLER, Emre | BAŞARAN FİLİK, Ümmühan

Smart home energy scheduling problem is a significant subject in power system to avoid extra expenditure. In this work, the scheduling problem is realized using mixed integer linear (MILP) programming and simulated annealing (SA) method. MILP is one of the integer optimization method and SA is a strong technique for solving hard combinatorial optimization problems. Various types of electricity tariff is applied from country to country. In Turkey, one term and three term tariffs (electricity prices are divided into three parts; off-peak hours, mid-peak hours on-peak hours) are used. In this stu ...Daha fazlası

Energy Management of Disaster Shelter Centres Established in the Recent Earthquakes in Turkey

ŞAHİNER, Muammer | TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

Natural disasters create disasters stop human activities, destroy homes, businesses and the environment. Disasters can happen without warning and deprive hundreds or even thousands of people of drinking water, heating, lighting, communications and electricity services. Turkey has experienced the last three important disasters. 6702 buildings in the Erzincan earthquake, 48,666 in the Van earthquake, 3,200 in the Elazığ and Malatya earthquake, 90,813 buildings in the İzmir earthquake were destroyyed/heavily damaged, and a long-term power outage was experienced in the city center, towns and villa ...Daha fazlası

Atdişi Mısır (Zea mays indentata Sturt.) Genotiplerinde Verim ve Verim Unsurlarının Genetik Analizi

ÖZDEMİR, Elif | SADE, Bayram

The research was conducted during 2015 – 2016 growing seasons at SUAF (Selcuk University Agriculture Faculty Crop Science Department) Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir AKCIN trial area. Seven inbred lines (3.2, 3.4, 3.6, 14.2, 14.20, 14.21, 14.26), whose all self – pollination and selection stages were done in Middle Anatolian Region conditions, and 3 tester lines (FRMo 17, FRB 73, ADK 451) were hybridized according to line × tester mating design and 21 hybrid corn combinations were produced in year 2015. Lines, testers and progenies were sown according to “Randomised Complete Block design” with three repl ...Daha fazlası

Comparison of maize lines and their test crosses according to grain yield and some physiological properties

ÖZDEMİR, Elif | SADE, Bayram

This study evaluated 7 inbred lines of maize (Zea mays L.), 3 testers, and 21 hybrids produced using the line × tester mating design. The study was conducted in Konya, in The Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. CD (coefficient of determination) values were calculated to detect the effect of inbred lines on grain yield and other physiological properties of the test crosses. The mean values of all the parameters of the genotypes were evaluated using the Duncan’s multiple range test for grouping progenies and parent groups. The CD values between parent groups and progenies were statistically signi ...Daha fazlası

Line × tester analysis of stomatal conductance, chlorophyll content, photosynthetic efficiency, and transpiration rate traits in maize

ÖZDEMİR, Elif | SADE, Bayram

This study evaluated seven inbred lines of maize (Zea mays L.), three testers and 21 hybrids produced by line × tester mating design. Stomatal conductance, chlorophyll content, photosynthetic efficiency, and transpiration rate traits of parents and progenies were observed. The study was conducted in Konya, in the mid-Anatolian region of Turkey. The mean values of the stomatal conductance, chlorophyll content, photosynthetic efficiency, and transpiration rate measurements were evaluated using Duncan’s multiple range test for grouping parent and offspring groups. The variance for general combini ...Daha fazlası

Optimal Residential Load Control Comparison Using Linear Programming and Simulated Annealing for Energy Scheduling

GÜLER, Emre | BAŞARAN FİLİK, Ümmühan

Many tariffs are used for electricity pricing. Electricity bills can be reduced by choosing the optimal working hours of appliances and for appropriate tariffs in smart homes. In this study, Linear Programming (LP) and Simulated Annealing (SA) methods are realized and compared each other to find minimum bill. The multi-time tariffs that have different energy unit prices at different times of the day are preferred. Energy Management System (EMS) shifts time slots of some appliances to cheap energy unit prices. Optimal load control is applied to prevent high peak demand because there may be over ...Daha fazlası
