Objective: Attention deficit and hyperactivity impairment-the relationship between parents’ attitudes towards children and demographic variables of ADHD-diagnosed children. Method: The study population consisted of parents of 6-12 year-old children diagnosed with ADHD according to DSM-IV TR criteria. The survey was conducted between January 2018 and May 2018 with 119 parents in the experimental group and 107 parents in the control group. Family Life and Parenting Attitude Scale-PARI were used as data evaluation tools. Ethics Committee approved. The data were evaluated using descriptive statistics in the computer environment. Findings: In the study, 51.3% of the parents of children with ADHD are 26-35 years old, 33.6% are high school graduates, 72.3% are not working and 93.3% are married. 54.6% of children with ADHD are 6-9 years old and 42.9% are 10-12 years old and 77.3% are erectile. 55.4% of the parents do not receive social / social support. 90.7% of children with ADHD have a problem with the environment and 49.5% of them have problems with their friendship, most of which is school failure. There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the “Incompatibility” subscale scores of children with ADHD and healthy mothers (p <0.05). Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that the parents had more ADHD symptoms in their boys, and that the parents had a relationship between “excessive maternal and protective attitude” and “inconsistent”, and also in the subscale of “incompatibility-bad partner relationship”.
