A plant-based diet is a dietary model in which individuals completely or partially eliminate animal-derived foods because of some ethical issues, health problems, psychological or personal reasons. Although this diet model is thought to be effective in protecting against some non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, obesity, , cardiovascular diseases and hypertension, long-term implementation of the one of the plant-based diets for example, vegan diet model, can lead to deficiencies in various macro and micronutrients such as zinc, Fe+2, B12 and vitamin D. Sleep is a majör regulators of circadian rhytme and aimed to restore memory or learning capacity. To date, limited literature has investigated the relationship between plant-based diets (vegetarian and vegan diets) and sleep quality. This review will examine sleep quality and all other sleep parameters in plant-based diets such as vegan and vegetarian diets.
