Centrality dependence of inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present a measurement of inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02TeV as a function of the centrality of the collision, as estimated from the energy deposited in the Zero Degree Calorimeters. The measurement is performed with the ALICE detector down to zero transverse momentum, pT, in the backward (−4.46 < ycms < −2.96) and forward (2.03 < ycms < 3.53) rapidity intervals in the dimuon decay channel and in the mid-rapidity region (−1.37 < ycms < 0.43) in the dielectron decay channel. The backward and forward rapidity intervals correspond to the Pb-going and p-going direction ...Daha fazlası

Multiplicity dependence of charged pion, kaon, and (anti)proton production at large transverse momentum in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of charged pions, kaons and (anti)protons has been measured at mid-rapidity (−0.5 < y < 0) in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. Exploiting particle identification capabilities at high transverse momentum (pT), the previously published pT spectra have been extended to include measurements up to 20 GeV/c for seven event multiplicity classes. The pT spectra for pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV, needed to interpolate a pp reference spectrum, have also been extended up to 20 GeV/c to measure the nuclear modification factor (RpPb) in non-single diffrac ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of charged jet production cross sections and nuclear modification in p–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Charged jet production cross sections in p-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC are presented. Using the anti-k(T) algorithm, jets have been reconstructed in the central rapidity region from charged particles with resolution parameters R = 0.2 and R = 0.4. The reconstructed jets have been corrected for detector effects and the underlying event background. To calculate the nuclear modification factor, R-pPb, of charged jets in p-Pb collisions, a pp reference was constructed by scaling previously measured charged jet spectra at root s = 7 TeV. In the ...Daha fazlası

Elliptic flow of identified hadrons in Pb-Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The elliptic flow coefficient (v2) of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV was measured with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The results were obtained with the Scalar Product method, a two-particle corre- lation technique, using a pseudo-rapidity gap of |∆η| > 0.9 between the identified hadron under study and the reference particles. The v2 is reported for π±, K±, K0S, p+p, φ, Λ+Λ, Ξ−+Ξ+ and Ω−+Ω+ in several collision centralities. In the low transverse momentum (pT) region, pT < 3GeV/c, v2(pT) exhibits a particle mass dependence consistent with el ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of dijet kT in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

A measurement of dijet correlations in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector is presented. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles measured in the central tracking detectors and neutral energy deposited in the electromagnetic calorimeter. The transverse momentum of the full jet (clustered from charged and neutral constituents) and charged jet (clustered from charged particles only) is corrected event-by-event for the contribution of the underlying event, while corrections for underlying event fluctuations and finite detector resolution are applied on an inclusive bas ...Daha fazlası

Centrality dependence of high-pT D meson suppression in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The nuclear modification factor, RAA, of the prompt charmed mesons D0, D+ and D∗+, and their antiparticles, was measured with the ALICE detector in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy √sNN = 2.76 TeV in two transverse momentum intervals, 5 < pT < 8GeV/c and 8 < pT < 16GeV/c, and in six collision centrality classes. The RAA shows a maximum suppression of a factor of 5–6 in the 10% most central collisions. The suppression and its centrality dependence are compatible within uncertainties with those of charged pions. A comparison with the RAA of non-prompt J/ψ from B meson decays, measured ...Daha fazlası

A Novel Architecture Based On A Conducting Polymer And Calixarene Derivative: İts Synthesis And Biosensor Construction

GÖKOĞLAN, Tuğba Ceren | SÖYLEMEZ, Saniye | KESİK, Melis | ÜNAY, Hande | SAYIN, Serkan | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir | ÇIRPAN, Ali | TOPPARE, Levent

In this study, a novel amperometric glucose biosensor based on a selenium comprising conducting polymer and calixarene was developed. Firstly, poly(2-(2-octyldodecyl)-4,7-di(selenoph-2-yl)-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole), poly((SBTz)) was electrodeposited onto a graphite electrode by an electropolymerization technique. Then, a newly synthesized calixarene and gold nanoparticle (AuNP) mixture was used for the improvement of biosensor characteristics. GOx, as a model enzyme was immobilized on the modified electrode surface. The constructed surface serves as a sufficient immobilization platform for t ...Daha fazlası

Calixarene assembly with enhanced photocurrents using P(SNS-NH2)/CdS nanoparticle structure modified Au electrode systems

SAYIN, Serkan | AZAK, Hacer | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir | ÇAMURLU, Pınar | UYSAL AKKUŞ, Gülderen | TOPPARE, Lale | ERSÖZ, Mustafa

Two novel calix[n]arene-adorned gold electrodes producing high photocurrent intensities were successfully constructed by embedding gold electrode surfaces with both P(4-(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzenamine) conducting polymer and 4-mercaptoboronic acid-functionalized semiconductor CdS nanoparticles to facilitate the binding of calix[n]arene sulfonic acids with nanoparticles. This structure enabled an electron transfer cascade that both induced effective charge separation and efficiently generated photocurrent. The prepared electrodes were used to generate photocurrent by relying o ...Daha fazlası

Coherent ψ(2S) photo-production in ultra-peripheral Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We have performed the first measurement of the coherent ψ(2S) photo-production cross section in ultra- peripheral Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC. This charmonium excited state is reconstructed via the ψ(2S)→ l+l− and ψ(2S)→J/ψπ+π− decays, where the J/ψ decays into two leptons. The analysis is based on an event sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 22 μb−1. The cross section for coherent ψ (2S) production in the rapidity interval −0.9 < y < 0.9 is dσ coh /d y = 0.83 ± 0.19 stat + syst mb. The ψ (2S) ψ (2S) to J/ψ coherent cross section ratio is 0.34+0.08 (stat + sys ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of charm and beauty production at central rapidity versus charged-particle multiplicity in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Prompt D meson and non-prompt J/ψ yields are studied as a function of the multiplicity of charged particles produced in inelastic proton-proton collisions at a centre- √ of-mass energy of s = 7TeV. The results are reported as a ratio between yields in a given multiplicity interval normalised to the multiplicity-integrated ones (relative yields). They are shown as a function of the multiplicity of charged particles normalised to the average value for inelastic collisions (relative charged-particle multiplicity). D0, D+ and D∗+ mesons are measured in five pT intervals from 1 GeV/c to 20 GeV/c an ...Daha fazlası

Rapidity and transverse-momentum dependence of the inclusive J/ψ nuclear modification factor in p-Pb collisionsat√sNN =5.02TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We have studied the transverse-momentum (pT) dependence of the inclusive J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02TeV, in three center-of-mass rapidity (ycms) regions, down to zero pT. Results in the forward and backward rapidity ranges (2.03 < ycms < 3.53 and −4.46 < ycms < −2.96) are obtained by studying the J/ψ decay to μ+μ−, while the mid-rapidity region (−1.37 < ycms < 0.43) is investigated by measuring the e+e− decay channel. The pT dependence of the J/ψ production cross section and nuclear modification factor are presented for each of the rapidity intervals, as well as the J/ψ me ...Daha fazlası

Inclusive, prompt and non-prompt J/ψ production at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The transverse momentum (pT) dependence of the nuclear modification factor RAA and the centrality dependence of the average transverse momentum ⟨pT⟩ for inclusive J/ψ have been measured with ALICE for Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76TeV in the e+e− decay channel at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.8). The ⟨pT⟩ is significantly smaller than the one observed for pp collisions at the same centre-of-mass energy. Consistently, an increase of RAA is observed towards low pT. These observations might be indicative of a sizable contribution of charm quark coalescence to the J/ψ production. Additionally, the fracti ...Daha fazlası
