Application of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods in the Selection of Cargo Firms

AKARÇAY, Özlem | YAŞAR, Esra | AKGENÇ, Ertan

In recent years, developed technology has provided to facilitate forms of transportation, reduce the costs, introduce new markets and enhance various selection criteria offered by logistics companies. Competitive levels among logistics companies due to intensive customer demands are tend to increase and it has become a necessity to determine the most appropriate cargo firm in order to meet these demands. Moreover, decision- making about cargo firm is a curious issue for companies, since this process includes a hard work- flow. The objective of this study is to solve the problem about selecting ...Daha fazlası

A Multistage Deep Learning Algorithm for Detecting Arrhythmia

ALLAHVERDİ, Novruz | KUTLU, Yakup | ALTAN, Gökhan

Deep Belief Networks (DBN) is a deep learning algorithm that has both greedy layer-wise unsupervised and supervised training. Arrhythmia is a cardiac irregularity caused by a problem of the heart. In this study, a multi-stage DBN classification is proposed for achieving the efficiency of the DBN on arrhythmia disorders. Heartbeats from the MITBIH Arrhythmia database are classified into five groups which are recommended by AAMI. The Wavelet packet decomposition, higher order statistics, morphology and Discrete Fourier transform techniques were utilized to extract features. The classification pe ...Daha fazlası

Hallucinative Perception In Architecture And Effects Of Holographic Platform On Design Process

SEVİM, Halil | DEMİRKAN, Özlem

The hologram is a hallucinative image that produced virtually in yellow spot (macula lutea) and embedded in the physical environment with the help of photons. The hardware that creates hallucinative image is a portable head mounted holographic platform computer. The holographic platform computer senses the physical environment with the help of integrated cameras, sensors and lenses on it. The computer processes the information of the physical environment and integrates the information of the virtual environment into the physical environment and presents a holographic image to the user. In this ...Daha fazlası

Investigation of Design Criteria for the Type of Gabion Walls

URAY, Esra | TAN, Özcan

In civil engineering, connecting two different levels each other to provide the essential safety is a common problem and in solving this problem retaining structures are widely used. In this study, the design criteria of gabion retaining wall which is a kind of retaining wall was investigated by using Taguchi Method. Parameters which affect the design of gabion retaining wall are height, length of base, wall angle and angle of internal friction and slope of backfill and 16 different Taguchi design tables were formed by these using parameters. These design tables were modelled by using computer ...Daha fazlası

The Impact Of Economic Crises On Consumer Behavior In Konya

GEDİK, Hasan | AFŞAR, Bilge

In 2008, the economic crisis that emerged in the United States has a global dimension, affecting the entire world. The crisis periods which is a war of survival for businesses, influence the owners and employees of businesses and consumers significantly. Varying income levels of consumers bring about changes in needs, priorities and purchasing behavior. To know the consumer behavior in the crisis environment allows companies to take the right decisions about their possible behaviors, preferences and expectations of the product. In this study, the effects of the 2008 economic crisis in 2015, ch ...Daha fazlası

Detection of the Electronic Attributes of the Nanostructured Materials with Fuzzy Logic

ALLAHVERDİ, Novruz | GENCER, Muhammet Çağrı | VARDAR, Necati

This is a study, in which a trial was done to estimate the energy band gap (Eg) of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) by using a fuzzy logic algorithm that uses five inputs (strain value, fermi energy level, average energy, repulsive potential and electronic band structure energy).

The Impact Of Paris Agreement on Turkish Coal Power Project Developments

UYANIK, Sırrı | ALTÜRK, Orhan

EuraCoal, a European mining industry lobby group, estimates that Turkey has around 1.3 billion tonnes of hard coal and 11.5 billion tonnes of lignite resources, of which 0.5 billion tonnes and 9.8 billion tonnes respectively are proven reserves. As worldwide populations and industrial growth reach new heights, electricity demand is projected to increase substantially. Fossil fuels, particularly coal, will continue to be a vital energy source for the power sector in many countries. At the same time, fossil fuel fired power generation is one of the largest sources of global CO2 emissions. High-e ...Daha fazlası

Energy Supply Chain and Energy Security

ÖZKAN NESİMİOĞLU, Şerife

Energy Supply Chain and Energy Security Şerife Özkan Nesimioğlu Correspondence: serife.ozkan.nesimioglu@karatay.edu.tr In general, supply chain security is a prominent part of energy security, which is defined as “uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price” by International Energy Agency (IEA). In more detail, energy security can be separated into two sub-definitions as short and long- term energy security. Short term energy security focuses on the ability of the energy system to react promptly to sudden changes in the supply- demand balance. Here, sudden changes refer ...Daha fazlası

Import Dependency And Seeking For New Energy Technologies European Union Case

ÖZKAN NESİMİOĞLU, Şerife

In this paper, energy poverty and as a result of this energy import dependency and its possible negative results have been examined by taking European Union (EU) into consideration. This analysis has two aims: the first one is questioning the European Unions’ energy security from supply perspective and the second one is investigating the solutions produced by European Union to get away or at least to reduce its energy import dependency. To guarantee its energy supply security at affordable price and to attain its targets about energy security, some action plans has been being put into practice ...Daha fazlası

Biogas Potential Of Ereğli City

TUNÇEZ, Fatma Didem

Turkey's growth and development goals mean that its energy need will increase rapidly in proportion to its growth. Meeting the increasing energy need from fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas causes the depletion of natural resources. Another problem is that the increase in energy demand is increasingly met with imports. The solution of this problem is to diversify the energy supply with renewable energy sources. Biogas is one of the renewable energy sources. Biogas potential of Ereğli District was revealed in this study.

The Visualization Of Third Space Through Marcus Hartel’s Street Shoots In NYC

DEMİRKAN, Özlem | SEVİM, Halil

Henry Lefebvre builds the production of space on three moments. These are perceived, conceived and experienced spaces. These three moments conceptually correspond to space practice, space representation, and representational spaces. Edward Soja develops his concept of thirdspace on Lefebvre’s three moments. Third space is the intersection and even combination of perceived and conceived space. The intersection and combination is lived and experienced space. He defines trialectics of being and trialectics of spatiality by setting out a voyage through Lefebvre’s works. He addresses to Foucault’s ...Daha fazlası

Forecasting of solar radiation using different machine learning approaches

DEMİR, Vahdettin | ÇITAKOĞLU, Hatice

In this study, monthly solar radiation (SR) estimation was performed using five different machine learning-based approaches. The models used are support vector machine regression (SVMR), long short-term memory (LSTM), Gaussian process regression (GPR), extreme learning machines (ELM) and K-nearest neighbors (KNN). Modeling of these approaches was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, VIF analysis was carried out to develop the model. Thus, the input parameters that decrease the performance of the model are removed. In the second stage, remaining input parameters such as meteorological ...Daha fazlası
