Inclusive J/ψ production at forward and backward rapidity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 8.16 TeV

Inclusive J/ψ production is studied in p-Pb interactions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision sNN−−−√=8.16 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ meson is reconstructed, via its decay to a muon pair, in the centre-of-mass rapidity intervals 2.03< ycms< 3.53 and −4.46< ycms< −2.96, where positive and negative ycms refer to the p-going and Pb-going direction, respectively. The transverse momentum coverage is pT< 20 GeV/c. Inclusive J/ψ production at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV

Inclusive J/ψ production is studied in minimum-bias proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √s = 5.02 TeV by ALICE at the CERN LHC. The measurement is performed at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.9) in the dielectron decay channel down to zero transverse momentum pT, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity tion is dσ/dy = 5.64 ± 0.22(stat.) ± 0.33(syst.) ± 0.12(lumi.) μb. Statistical electromagnetics for antennas

After a brief introduction, this chapter discusses the state of the art of variable antennas and previous works on these antennas are reviewed. This is followed by an introduction to the most common statistical analysis techniques used for the purpose of the uncertainty propagation. The application of the statistical method to some real case structures is then considered; split ring resonator (SRR) and wearable antennas.

W and Z boson production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

The W and Z boson production was measured via the muonic decay chan- nel in proton-lead collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider with the ALICE detector. The measurement covers backward (−4.46 < ycms < −2.96) and for- ward (2.03 < ycms < 3.53) rapidity regions, corresponding to Pb-going and p-going direc- tions, respectively. The Z-boson production cross section, with dimuon invariant mass of 60 < mμμ < 120GeV/c2 and muon transverse momentum (pμT) larger than 20GeV/c, is measured. Two-particle number and transverse momentum correlations are powerful tools for studying the medium produced in heavy-ion collisions. Correlations in the angular separation of pairs of hadrons can provide information on the medium transport characteristics. Exploring jet profiles in Pb-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector

In this contribution, we present measurements of inclusive jet production with the ALICE detector in Pb-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV. Production cross sections of charged particle jets and fully reconstructed jets are measured with jet resolution parameters R = 0.2 and 0.3. To quantify the medium induced parton energy loss, jet nuclear modification factors (R-AA) are measured by utilizing POWHEG+Pythia8 predictions as reference cross section in pp collisions. We have identified a mistake in how Fig. 1 is referenced in the text of the article Eur. Phys. J. C 77 (2017) no. 8, 569 which affected three paragraphs of the results section. The corrected three paragraphs as well as the unmodified accompanying figure are reproduced in this document with the correct labeling. In addition, an editing issue led to a missing acknowledgements section. The missing section is reproduced at the end of this document in the manner in which it should have appeared in the published article.
