ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is studying the physics of strongly interacting matter, and in particular the properties of the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP), using proton–proton, proton–nucleus and nucleus–nucleus collisions at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The ALICE Collaboration is preparing a major upgrade of the experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown in the years 2018–2019. Hierarchical representation of video sequences for annotation

Video annotation is an important issue in video content management systems. Rapid growth of the digital video data has created a need for efficient and reasonable mechanisms that can ease the annotation process. In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical clustering based system for video annotation. The proposed system generates a top-down hierarchy of the video streams using hierarchical k-means clustering. Tagging accuracy analysis on part-of-speech taggers

Part of Speech (POS) Tagging can be applied by several tools and several programming languages. This work focuses on the Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK) library in the Python environment and the gold standard corpora installable. The corpora and tagging methods are analyzed and compared by using the Python language. Different taggers are analyzed according to their tagging accuracies with data from three different corpora. A 3D face animation system for mobile devices

In this paper, we present a 3D face animation system rendered on mobile devices. The system automatically creates realistic facial animation from text input with emotion tags. First, an input string is converted into synthetic voice and phonetic information. Then, 3D head model performs facial movements synchronized to the speech. The proposed system offers an affordable quick solution for applications that require virtual actors speaking text in which human-machine interfaces on mobile devices can profit.
