Statistical thermal model analysis of particle production at LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | VARDAR, Necati

A successful description of the particle ratios measured in heavy-ion collisions has been achieved in the framework of thermal models. In such a way, a large number of observables can be reproduced with a small number of parameters, namely the temperature, baryo-chemical potential and a factor measuring the degree of strangeness saturation. The comparison of experimental data at and the model estimations has made possible to define the thermodynamic parameters of strongly interacting matter at chemical freeze-out temperature. The detailed study of hadron and meson production including resonanc ...Daha fazlası

Calibration of the photon spectrometer PHOS of the ALICE experiment

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The procedure for the energy calibration of the high granularity electromagnetic calorimeter PHOS of the ALICE experiment is presented. The methods used to perform the relative gain calibration, to evaluate the geometrical alignment and the corresponding correction of the absolute energy scale, to obtain the nonlinearity correction coefficients and finally, to calculate the time-dependent calibration corrections, are discussed and illustrated by the PHOS performance in proton-proton (pp) collisions at √ s = 13 TeV. After applying all corrections, the achieved mass resolutions for π 0 and η mes ...Daha fazlası

Production of hadronic resonances at LHC energies with the ALICE experiment

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Hadronic resonances are strongly decaying particles with extremely short lifetimes of about few fm/c, which are comparable to or smaller than the lifetime of the system formed in relativistic collisions. Due to their short lifetimes, resonance particles can be used to investigate the freeze-out mechanisms after hadronization. This contribution summarizes the results of resonance particle productions measured by the ALICE collaboration at LHC from various colliding systems and energies. Measured mass, width, transverse momentum and particle ratios of those resonances have been reported. Theoret ...Daha fazlası
