Change Detection in Multispectral Landsat Images Using Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms

YAVARIABDI, Amir

In this letter, we propose a novel method for unsupervised change detection in multitemporal multispectral Landsat images using multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA). The proposed method minimizes two different objective functions using MOEA to provide tradeoff between each other. The objective functions are used for evaluating changed and unchanged regions of the difference image separately. The difference image is obtained by using the structural similarity index measure method, which provides combination of the comparisons of luminance, contrast, and structure between two images. By ...Daha fazlası

The transverse momentum distributions of the strange and double-strange hyperon resonances ( Sigma ( 1385)(+/-), Xi ( 1530)(0)) produced in p-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV were measured in the rapidity range -0.5 < yCMS < 0 for event classes corresponding to different charged-particle multiplicity densities, < dN(ch)/d eta(lab)> . The mean transverse momentumvalues are presented as a function of < dNch/d eta(lab)>, as well as a function of the particle masses and compared with previous results on hyperon production. The integrated yield ratios of excited to ground- state hyperons are ...Daha fazlası

Clinically Significant Thyroid Metastasis of Lung Cancer: A Rare Case Report

ÇALIK, Mustafa | ÇALIK, Saniye Göknil | EREN KARANİS, Meryem İlkay | ESME, Hıdır

Although thyroid tumors are commonly primary, metastases are extremely rare. We report a rare case of metastatic adenocarcinoma of primary lung origin presenting as a solitary thyroid nodule. A 55-year-old female housewife with no significant past medical history, admitted to our emergency department, complained of anterior neck swelling and dyspnea for one month. In radiological assessment, goiter with retrosternal extension, right primary pulmonary mass with bilateral pleural effusion, and metastases of the brain, thyroid, mediastinal lymph node, and left lung were detected. Dyspnea improved ...Daha fazlası

Effect of Sr and Ti Addition on the Corrosion Behavior of Al-7Si-0.3Mg Alloy

ÇETİN, Remzi | ULUDAĞ, Muhammet | KOÇABAŞ, Mustafa | DIŞPINAR, Derya | CANSEVER, Nurhan

In the present study, the corrosion behaviour of A356 (Al-7Si-0.3Mg) alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution has been evaluated using cyclic/potentiodynamic polarization tests. The alloy was provided in the unmodified form and it was then modified with AlTi5B1 for grain refinement and with AlSr15 for Si modifications. These modifications yield to better mechanical properties. Tensile tests were performed. In addition, bifilm index and SDAS values were calculated and microstructure of the samples was investigated. As a result of the corrosion test, the Ecorr values for all conditions were determined approx ...Daha fazlası

Characterization of the Effect of Melt Treatments on Melt Quality in Al-7wt %Si-Mg Alloys

ÇETİN, Remzi | ULUDAĞ, Muhammet | DIŞPINAR, Derya | TİRYAKİOĞLU, Murat

The effects of degassing, holding time and melt additions (Sr, Sr + Ti, Ti, B and B + Sr) on the quality of A356 melts were examined. A total of 120 reduced pressure test samples were collected. Pores in these samples were analyzed via digital image processing to determine the number density of pores as well as the statistical distribution of their sizes. Results showed that in all cases, degassing with argon reduced the number of defects regardless of the additions made to the melts. Moreover, all additions were found to degrade melt quality. The lowest number density of pores in all melts wa ...Daha fazlası

Insight into particle production mechanisms via angular correlations of identified particles in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Two-particle angular correlations were mea- sured in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV for pions, kaons, pro- tons, and lambdas, for all particle/anti-particle combinations in the pair. Data for mesons exhibit an expected peak domi- nated by effects associated with mini-jets and are well repro- duced by general purpose Monte Carlo generators. However, for baryon–baryon and anti-baryon–anti-baryon pairs, where both particles have the same baryon number, a near-side anti- correlation structure is observed instead of a peak. This effect is interpreted in the context of baryon production mecha- nisms in ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of deuteron spectra and elliptic flow in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The transverse momentum ( pT ) spectra and elliptic flow coefficient (v2) of deuterons and anti-deuterons at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) are measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. The measurement of the pT spectra of (anti-)deuterons is done up to 8 GeV/c in 0–10% centrality class and up to 6 GeV/c in 10–20% and 20–40% centrality classes. The v2 is measured in the 0.8 < pT < 5 GeV/c interval and in six dif- ferent centrality intervals (0–5, 5–10, 10–20, 20–30, 30–40 and 40–50%) using the scalar product technique. Measured π ± , K± and p+p transverse-mo ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of azimuthal correlations of D mesons with charged particles in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV and p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The azimuthal correlations of D mesons with charged particles were measured with the ALICE appara- tus in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV and p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. D0 , D+ , and D∗+ mesons and their charge conjugates with transverse momentum 3 < pT < 16 GeV/c and rapidity in the nucleon- nucleon centre-of-mass system | ycms | < 0.5 (pp collisions) and −0.96 < ycms < 0.04 (p–Pb collisions) were corre- lated to charged particles with pT > 0.3 GeV/c. The yield of charged particles in the correlation peak induced by the jet containing the D meson and the peak ...Daha fazlası

Charged-particle multiplicities in proton–proton collisions at √s = 0.9 to 8 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

A detailed study of pseudorapidity densities and multiplicity distributions of primary charged particles pro- duced in proton–proton collisions, at √s = 0.9, 2.36, 2.76, 7 and 8 TeV, in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 2, was carried out using the ALICE detector. Measurements were obtained for three event classes: inelastic, non-single diffractive and events with at least one charged particle in the pseudorapidity interval |η| < 1. The use of an improved track-counting algo- rithm combined with ALICE’s measurements of diffractive processes allows a higher precision compared to our previ- ous pub ...Daha fazlası
