Electrochemical polymerization of a new alkoxy-bridged dithieno (3,2-B:2’,3’-D) pyrrole derivative

A novel alkoxy-bridged dithieno (3, 2-B:2’,3’-D) pyrrole (DTP) derivative was synthesized and its corresponding polymer poly(1,2-bis(2-(4H-dithieno[3,2-b:2’,3’-d]pyrrol-4-yl)ethoxy)ethane) (P(DTP-alkoxy-DTP)) was successfully obtained electrochemically. The e ff ects of alkoxy bridge in the structure on the electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties of the polymer were also investigated in detail. The results showed that the polymer fi lm exhibits multielectrochromic behavior and a low band gap of 1.82 eV.

First measurement of jet mass in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at the LHC

This letter presents the first measurement of jet mass in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV and √sNN = 5.02 TeV, respectively. Both the jet energy and the jet mass are expected to be sensitive to jet quenching in the hot Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) matter created in nuclear collisions at collider energies. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles using the anti-kT jet algorithm and resolution parameter R = 0.4. Measurement of the inclusive J/ψ polarization at forward rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV

We report on the measurement of the inclusive J/ψ polarization parameters in pp collisions at a center of mass energy √s = 8 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.23 pb−1. J/ψ resonances are reconstructed in their di-muon decay channel in the rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4.0 and over the transverse-momentum interval 2 < pT < 15 GeV/c. Inclusive J/ψ production in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

Inclusive J/ψ production is studied in Xe–Xe interactions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN = 5.44 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ meson is reconstructed via its decay into a muon pair, in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4 and down to zero transverse momentum. In this Letter, the nuclear modification factors RAA for inclusive J/ψ, measured in the centrality range 0–90% as well as in the centrality intervals 0–20% and 20–90% are presented. Gloss effect on vocabulary learning

This study examined the effectiveness of L1 and L2 glosses on incidental vocabulary learning through reading. It was conducted at a private university in Konya, Turkey and the participants of the study are 50 pre-intermediate level prep EFL learners. The students were divided into two as L1 and L2 gloss groups. The data analysis was carried out by using independent samples and paired samples T-tests.
