A Novel EOG-Based Wireless Rapid Communication Device For People With Motor Neuron Diseases

UŞAKLI, Ali Bülent | GÜRKAN, Serkan | GÜRKAN, Guray | KAYA, Alper

In this study, a new electrooculography (EOG) based system that provides efficient communication for people suffered from motor neuron diseases is presented. The system consists of two distinct devices. The first device operates as a main unit that is activated by the subject’s eye movements. This unit is capable of transmitting 10 different command/state messages. These messages enable subject to choose his/her situation such as “I’m fine”, “I feel bad”, “I’m hungry” and “I’m thirsty”. Commands such as “Come”, “Go”. The number of messages can be increased. The main unit acquires the EOG signa ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of Z0-boson production at large rapidities in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of Z0 bosons at large rapidities in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV is reported. Z0 candidates are reconstructed in the dimuon decay channel (Z0 → μ+ μ−), based on muons selected with pseudo-rapidity −4.0 < η < −2.5 and pT > 20 GeV/c. The invariant yield and the nuclear modification factor, RAA, are presented as a function of rapidity and collision centrality. The value of RAA for the 0–20% central Pb–Pb collisions is 0.67 ± 0.11 (stat.) ± 0.03 (syst.) ± 0.06 (corr. syst.), exhibiting a deviation of 2.6σ from unity. The results are well-described by calculations that include ...Daha fazlası

Search for collectivity with azimuthal J/ψ-hadron correlations in high multiplicity p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 and 8.16 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present a measurement of azimuthal correlations between inclusive J/ψ and charged hadrons in p-Pb collisions recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ are reconstructed at forward (p-going, 2.03 < y < 3.53) and backward (Pb-going, −4.46 < y < −2.96) rapidity via their μ+μ− decay channel, while the charged hadrons are reconstructed at mid-rapidity (|η| < 1.8). The correlations are expressed in terms of associated charged-hadron yields per J/ψ trigger. A rapidity gap of at least 1.5 units is required between the trigger J/ψ and the associated charged hadrons. Possible correlat ...Daha fazlası

D-meson azimuthal anisotropy in mid-central Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The azimuthal anisotropy coefficient v2 of prompt D0, Dþ, D þ, and Dþs mesons was measured in sNN 1⁄4 5.02 TeV, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The D mesons were reconstructed via their hadronic decays at midrapidity, jyj < 0.8, in the transverse momentum interval 1 < pT < 24 GeV/c. The measured D-meson v2 has similar values as that of charged pions. The Dþs v2, measured for the first time, is found to be compatible with that of nonstrange D mesons. The measurements are compared with theoretical calculations of charm-quark transport in a hydrodynamically expanding medium and have the poten ...Daha fazlası

Management of extravasation of oxaliplatin by mimicking its biotransformation

BAHADORI, Fatemeh | DEMİRAY, Mutlu

Although oxaliplatin (Oxali) plays a key role in the treatment of many types of cancer and has been reported to be an irritant, there is no specific and effective method for its extravasation and failure in Oxali extravasation management results in the need for plastic surgery. In the body, Oxali bio-transforms upon dilution in chloride-containing buffer salts to its di-chloro derivative and loses an oxalate molecule. Consequently, the chloride ions exchange with water molecules in the intracellular environment to produce the di-aqua derivative, which is the most active biotransformation produ ...Daha fazlası

A Novel Interactive Fuzzy Programming Approach for Optimization of Allied Closed-Loop Supply Chains

ÇALIK, Ahmet | PEHLİVAN, Nimet Yapıcı | PAKSOY, Turan | WEBER, Gerhard Wilhelm

In recent years, the relationship between companies and suppliers has changed with the continuous rise in environmental awareness and customer expectations. In order to fulfill customers’ needs, the actors in a Supply Chain (SC) network sometimes compete and sometimes cooperate with each other. In SC management, both competitive and collaborative strategies have become important and have required different points of view. In a collaborative environment, companies should strive for common targets with mutual relationship. After managers decided to share their resources, some positive effects ha ...Daha fazlası

Dielectron production in proton-proton collisions at s√ = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first measurement of e+e− pair production at mid-rapidity (|ηe| < 0.8) in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV with ALICE at the LHC is presented. The dielectron production is studied as a function of the invariant mass (mee < 3.3 GeV/c2), the pair transverse momentum (pT,ee < 8 GeV/c), and the pair transverse impact parameter (DCAee), i.e., the average distance of closest approach of the reconstructed electron and positron tracks to the collision vertex, normalised to its resolution. The results are compared with the expectations from a cocktail of known hadronic sources and are well described when ...Daha fazlası

Production of deuterons, tritons, 3He nuclei, and their antinuclei in pp collisions at √s = 0.9, 2.76, and 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Invariant differential yields of deuterons and antideuterons in pp collisions at √s = 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV and the yields of tritons, 3He nuclei, and their antinuclei at √s = 7 TeV have been measured with the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurements cover a wide transverse momentum (pT) range in the rapidity interval |y| < 0.5, extending both the energy and the pT reach of previous measurements up to 3 GeV/c for A = 2 and 6 GeV/c for A = 3. The coalescence parameters of (anti)deuterons and 3He nuclei exhibit an increasing trend with pT and are found to be compatible wi ...Daha fazlası

Anisotropic flow in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The first measurements of anisotropic flow coefficients vn for mid-rapidity charged particles in Xe– Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV are presented. Comparing these measurements to those from Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV, v2 is found to be suppressed for mid-central collisions at the same centrality, and enhanced for central collisions. The values of v3 are generally larger in Xe–Xe than in Pb–Pb at a given centrality. These observations are consistent with expectations from hydrodynamic predictions. When both v2 and v3 are divided by their corresponding eccentricities for a variety of ...Daha fazlası

Prompt and non-prompt J/ψ production and nuclear modification at mid-rapidity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

A measurement of beauty hadron production at mid-rapidity in proton-lead collisions at a nucleon–nucleon centre-of-mass energy √sNN = 5.02 TeV is presented. The semi-inclusive decay channel of beauty hadrons into J/ψ is considered, where the J/ψ mesons are reconstructed in the dielectron decay channel at mid-rapidity down to transverse momenta of 1.3 GeV/c. The bb production cross section at mid-rapidity, dσbb/dy, and the total cross section extrapo- lated over full phase space, σbb ̄ , are obtained. This measure- ment is combined with results on inclusive J/ψ production to determine the promp ...Daha fazlası

Constraints on jet quenching in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV measured by the event-activity dependence of semi-inclusive hadron-jet distributions

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The ALICE Collaboration reports the measurement of semi-inclusive distributions of charged-particle jets recoiling from a high-transverse momentum trigger hadron in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV. Jets are reconstructed from charged-particle tracks using the anti-kT algorithm with resolution parameter R = 0.2 and 0.4. A data-driven statistical approach is used to correct the uncorrelated background jet yield. Recoil jet distributions are reported for jet transverse momentum 15 < pch < 50 GeV/c and are compared in T,jet various intervals of p–Pb event activity, based on charged-particle mul ...Daha fazlası
