Measurement of jet radial profiles in Pb–Pb collisions at sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The jet radial structure and particle transverse momentum (pT) composition within jets are presented in centrality-selected Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. Track-based jets, which are also called charged jets, were reconstructed with a resolution parameter of R = 0.3 at midrapidity |ηch jet| < 0.6 for transverse momenta pT, ch jet = 30–120 GeV/c. Jet–hadron correlations in relative azimuth and pseudorapidity space (φ,η) are measured to study the distribution of the associated particles around the jet axis for different pT,assoc-ranges between 1 and 20 GeV/c. The data in Pb–Pb collisions a ...Daha fazlası

J/ψ suppression at forward rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The inclusive J/ψ production has been studied in Pb–Pb and pp collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair √sNN = 5.02 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ meson is reconstructed, in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4 and in the transverse-momentum range pT < 12 GeV/c, via its decay to a muon pair. In this Letter, we present results on the inclusive J/ψ cross section in pp collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV and on the nuclear modification factor RAA. The latter is presented as a function of the centrality of the collision and, for central collisions, as a f ...Daha fazlası

First measurement of jet mass in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

This letter presents the first measurement of jet mass in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV and √sNN = 5.02 TeV, respectively. Both the jet energy and the jet mass are expected to be sensitive to jet quenching in the hot Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) matter created in nuclear collisions at collider energies. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles using the anti-kT jet algorithm and resolution parameter R = 0.4. The jets are measured in the pseudorapidity range |ηjet | < 0.5 and in three intervals of transverse momentum between 60 GeV/c and 120 GeV/c. The measurement of the jet ...Daha fazlası

Measurement of the inclusive J/ψ polarization at forward rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report on the measurement of the inclusive J/ψ polarization parameters in pp collisions at a center of mass energy √s = 8 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.23 pb−1. J/ψ resonances are reconstructed in their di-muon decay channel in the rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4.0 and over the transverse-momentum interval 2 < pT < 15 GeV/c. The three polarization param- eters (λθ , λφ , λθ φ ) are measured as a function of pT both in the helicity and Collins-Soper reference frames. The mea- sured J/ψ polarization ...Daha fazlası

Coherent J/ψ photo production at forward rapidity in ultra-peripheral Pb–Pb collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The ALICE collaboration performed the first rapidity-differential measurement of coherent J/ψ photoproduction in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy sNN‾‾‾‾√ = 5.02 TeV. The J/ψ is detected via its dimuon decay in the forward rapidity region (−4.0

Inclusive J/ψ production in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Inclusive J/ψ production is studied in Xe–Xe interactions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN = 5.44 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ meson is reconstructed via its decay into a muon pair, in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval 2.5 < y < 4 and down to zero transverse momentum. In this Letter, the nuclear modification factors RAA for inclusive J/ψ, measured in the centrality range 0–90% as well as in the centrality intervals 0–20% and 20–90% are presented. The RAA values are compared to previously published results for Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV a ...Daha fazlası
