Hadronic resonances, strange and multi-strange particle production in Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We present measurements of hadronic resonance, strange and multi-strange particle production in collisions of Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb at the center-of-mass energies of root s(NN) = 5.44 and 5.02 TeV, respectively, by the ALICE collaboration at the LHC. Particle ratios are presented as a function of multiplicity for K-s(0), Lambda, Xi(-), (Xi) over bar (+), Omega(-), (Omega) over bar (+), rho(770)(0), K{*}(892)(0), phi(1020) and Lambda(1520). Our results are discussed and compared with predictions of QCD-inspired event generators. Additionally, comparisons with lower energy measurements and smaller sys ...Daha fazlası

Higher moment fluctuations of identified particle distributions from ALICE

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Cumulants of conserved charges fluctuations are regarded as a potential tool to study the criticality in the QCD phase diagram and to determine the freeze-out parameters in a model-independent way. At LHC energies, the measurements of the ratio of the net-baryon (net-proton) cumulants can be used to test the lattice QCD predictions. In this work, we present the first measurements of cumulants of the net-proton number distributions up to 4th order in Pb-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 2.76 and 5.02 TeV as a function of collision centrality. We compare our cumulant ratios results with the STAR exp ...Daha fazlası

Calibration of the photon spectrometer PHOS of the ALICE experiment

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The procedure for the energy calibration of the high granularity electromagnetic calorimeter PHOS of the ALICE experiment is presented. The methods used to perform the relative gain calibration, to evaluate the geometrical alignment and the corresponding correction of the absolute energy scale, to obtain the nonlinearity correction coefficients and finally, to calculate the time-dependent calibration corrections, are discussed and illustrated by the PHOS performance in proton-proton (pp) collisions at √ s = 13 TeV. After applying all corrections, the achieved mass resolutions for π 0 and η mes ...Daha fazlası

Construction of an Amperometric Cholesterol Biosensor Based on DTP(aryl)aniline Conducting Polymer Bound Cholesterol Oxidase

ÇEVİK, Emre | CERİT, Alaaddin | GAZEL, Nilay | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir

In this study, an amperometric cholesterol biosensor was constructed based on cholesterol oxidase immobilized on a conducting 4-(4H-dithienol[3,2-b:2’,3’d]pyrrole-4)aniline polymer, (DTP(aryl)aniline). Glassy carbon electrodes were covered with P(DTP(aryl)aniline) which is used for the wiring of enzyme to the electrode surface by using electro-polymerization. The electron transfer was successfully made by the bio-catalytic activity and possession of the unique morphology of the polymer allowed efficient immobilization of the cholesterol oxidase enzyme. Analytical performances, linear range, de ...Daha fazlası

J/ψ elliptic and triangular flow in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The production of K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) mesons has been measured in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV. K∗0 and φ are reconstructed via their decay into charged hadrons with the ALICE detector in the rapidity range −0.5 < y < 0. The transverse momentum spectra, measured as a function of the multiplicity, have a pT range from 0 to 15 GeV/c for K∗0 and from 0.3 to 21 GeV/c for φ. Integrated yields, mean transverse momenta and particle ratios are reported and compared with results in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV and Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. In Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions, K∗0 and φ probe ...Daha fazlası

Enzyme‐Based Biosensors in Food Industry via Surface Modifications (Chapter 7)

GAZEL, Nilay | YILDIZ, Hüseyin Bekir

Enzyme technology has received great attention with improvements in biological remediation techniques. Enzyme-based biosensors can qualify as a measuring system as they permit the detection of biological events by detecting biochemical changes in biological processes. Advantages of biosensors are identification of even small quantities, cost effectiveness, and requirement of less power and less volume for identifying a wide linear range for usage [1]. Moreover, biosensors have high sensitivity, selectivity, and good response time for different kinds of applications.

Inclusive quarkonium production at forward rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

We report on the inclusive production cross sec- tions of J/ψ , ψ (2S), Υ (1S), Υ (2S) and Υ (3S), measured at forward rapidity with the ALICE detector in pp colli- sions at a center-of-mass energy √s = 8 TeV. The analy- sis is based on data collected at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.23 pb−1. Quarkonia are reconstructed in the dimuon-decay channel. The differen- tial production cross sections are measured as a function of the transverse momentum pT and rapidity y, over the pT ranges0< pT

Jet-hadron correlations measured relative to the second order event plane in Pb-Pb collisions at sNN = 2.76 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The quark gluon plasma produced in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) can be studied by measuring the modifications of jets formed by hard scattered partons which interact with the medium. We studied these modifications via angular correlations of jets with charged hadrons for jets with momenta 20 < p jet T < 40 GeV/c as a function of the associated particle momentum. The reaction plane fit method is used in this analysis to remove the flow modulated background. The analysis of angular correlations for different orientations of the jet relative to the sec ...Daha fazlası

Z-boson production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 8.16 TeV and Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

Measurement of Z-boson production in p-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 8.16 TeV and Pb-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV is reported. It is performed in the dimuon decay channel, through the detection of muons with pseudorapidity −4 < ηµ < −2.5 and transverse momentum p µ T > 20 GeV/c in the laboratory frame. The invariant yield and nuclear modification factor are measured for opposite-sign dimuons with invariant mass 60 < mµµ < 120 GeV/c 2 and rapidity 2.5 < yµµ cms < 4. They are presented as a function of rapidity and, for the Pb-Pb collisions, of centrality as well. The results are compared with t ...Daha fazlası

Production of ω mesons in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

KARASU UYSAL, Ayben | ALICE Collaboration

The invariant differential cross section of inclusive ω(782) meson production at midrapidity (|y| < 0.5) in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV was measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC over a transverse momentum range of 2 < pT < 17 GeV/c. The ω meson was reconstructed via its ω → π+π−π0 decay channel. The measured ω production cross section is compared to various calculations: PYTHIA 8.2 Monash 2013 describes the data, while PYTHIA 8.2 Tune 4C overestimates the data by about 50%. A recent NLO calculation, which includes a model describing the fragmentation of the whole vector-meson nonet, desc ...Daha fazlası
