Insight into particle production mechanisms via angular correlations of identified particles in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

Two-particle angular correlations were mea- sured in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV for pions, kaons, pro- tons, and lambdas, for all particle/anti-particle combinations in the pair. Data for mesons exhibit an expected peak domi- nated by effects associated with mini-jets and are well repro- duced by general purpose Monte Carlo generators. However, for baryon–baryon and anti-baryon–anti-baryon pairs, where both particles have the same baryon number, a near-side anti- correlation structure is observed instead of a peak. First study of the two-body scattering involving charm hadrons

This article presents the first measurement of the interaction between charm hadrons and nucleons. The two-particle momentum correlations of pD− and pD¯ þ pairs are measured by the ALICE Collaboration in high-multiplicity pp collisions at ffiffi s p ¼ 13 TeV. The data are compatible with the Coulomb-only interaction hypothesis within ð1.1–1.5Þσ. The level of agreement slightly improves if an attractive nucleon ðNÞD strong interaction is considered, in contrast to most model predictions which suggest an overall ¯ repulsive interaction. (Anti) Hypertriton lifetime measurement in Pb–Pb collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV via two-body decay

Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV collected by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The (anti-)hypertriton has been reconstructed via its charged two-body mesonic decay channel and the lifetime has been determined from an exponential fit to the dN/d(ct) spectrum. The measured value, τ = 242+34 (stat.) ± −38 17 (syst.) ps, is compatible with representative theoretical predictions, thus contributing to the solution of the longstanding hypertriton lifetime puzzle.

Multiplicity dependence of jet-like two-particle correlation structures in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

Two-particle angular correlations between unidentified charged trigger and associated particles are measured by the ALICE detector in p–Pb collisions at a nucleon–nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV. The transverse-momentum range 0.7 < pT,assoc < pT,trig < 5.0 GeV/c is examined, to include correlations induced by jets originating from low momentum-transfer scatterings (minijets). Anisotropic Flow of Charged Particles in Pb-Pb Collisions at 5.02 TeV

We report the first results of elliptic (v2), triangular (v3), and quadrangular (v4) flow of charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of sNN 1⁄4 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurements are performed in the central pseudorapidity region jηj < 0.8 and for the transverse momentum range 0.2 < pT < 5 GeV=c. The anisotropic flow is measured using two-particle correlations with a pseudorapidity gap greater than one unit and with the multiparticle cumulant method. Azimuthal Anisotropy of Heavy-Flavor Decay Electrons in p-Pb Collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV

Angular correlations between heavy-flavor decay electrons and charged particles at midrapidity pffiffiffiffiffiffiffi (jηj < 0.8) are measured in p-Pb collisions at sNN 1⁄4 5.02 TeV. The analysis is carried out for the 0%–20% (high) and 60%–100% (low) multiplicity ranges. The jet contribution in the correlation distribution from high-multiplicity events is removed by subtracting the distribution from low-multiplicity events. Pseudorapidity dependence of the anisotropic flow of charged particles in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

We present measurements of the elliptic (v2 ), triangular (v3 ) and quadrangular (v4 ) anisotropic azimuthal flow over a wide range of pseudorapidities (−3.5 < η < 5). The measurements are performed with Pb– Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV using the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The flow harmonics are obtained using two- and four-particle correlations from nine different centrality intervals covering central to peripheral collisions. Anisotropic flow in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV

The first measurements of anisotropic flow coefficients vn for mid-rapidity charged particles in Xe– Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV are presented. Comparing these measurements to those from Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV, v2 is found to be suppressed for mid-central collisions at the same centrality, and enhanced for central collisions. The values of v3 are generally larger in Xe–Xe than in Pb–Pb at a given centrality. These observations are consistent with expectations from hydrodynamic predictions. Constraining production models with light (anti-)nuclei measurements in small systems with ALICE at the LHC

The production of deuterons and anti-deuterons in pp collisions at root s = 7 and 13 TeV has been studied as a function of charged-particle multiplicity using the ALICE detector at the LHC. The preliminary results are shown here, together with those obtained in heavy-ion collisions. They are presented by focusing the discussion on the comparison with expectations from hadron-coalescence models.
