Hyperthermia has been shown to be a medically useful procedure applicable for different indications. For the connection between clinical effects and heat, it is important to understand the actual temperatures achieved in the tissue. There are limited temperature data available when using capacitive hyperthermia devices even though this is worldwide the most widespread method for loco-regional heating. The review paper entitled “The Essential Medicinal Chemistry of Curcumin”, published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, by Nelson et al. (1) is a well-designed paper, presenting a new (and negative) approach to the well-known biologically active compound; curcumin. Although some arguments throughout this paper are completely true, the approach of the authors is unfortunately far from impartial, and many of the conclusions the authors draw from some of their referred papers are especially hard to accept.

Objectives: To define the thoughts, emotions, experiences and perceptions of women with multiple sclerosis (MS) and to determine sexual, physical, and emotional effects of MS on patients. Methods: Twenty-one women were included into this qualitatively designed study. Results: Three baseline themes were defined as “uncertainty” arising from complaints due to numbness in extremities and loss of sense, balance or vision, “alterations in sexual life,” and “inability” as a result of deformities in marital status and gender role. Thoracoscopic diaphragmatic plication with endostapler

Diaphragma plication surgery is possibly the most advanced approach in terms of using different techniques. There are a number of plication and suturing methods, which are improved by transthoracic or thoracoscopic methods, and almost all of these techniques are still in use depending on an individual case or the status of diaphragm.
